I know it's perfectly fine to be a fingertip dilated at 33 weeks, but I'm just curious if it's very common with your first baby? Just wondering about it, even though I know dilation in the beginning doesn't correlate much with when the baby's actually coming. And is fingertip dilated still considered closed basically?

(They checked my cervix at 33 weeks because I was having some preterm labor symptoms- cervix is still long, medium soft and fingertip dilated, so they weren't so worried about imminent labor)

A fingertip tends to be around 1cm dilated, which is totally normal and can be like that throughout a pregnancy :)

I've been a cm since 26 weeks and this is my third. With my son I was at 3 cm from 35 weeks till I was induced at 39 so it can really mean squat cause you can sit that way forever lol

By the time I was 33-34 weeks I was dilated 2-3 cm with my oldest. A finger tip is still pretty closed for the most part, and according to my midwife it can close back up. But it could also mean that your body is slowly starting to prepare...all depends on your body.

I was with my first! I ended up going a week overdue until they had to induce me :/ Good luck!

With my first I was 4cm dilated from 34 weeks and still walking around :haha:
