This might be a really stupid question but ..
In hospital when they give you the first bottle, is it just normal formula or does it have special nutrients etc as its there first feed?

Its just normal hun, they usually use the ready made bottles xxx

just regular formula - i was asked which brand.

BUT a lot of hospitals now tell you to take your own formula if you are choosing to ff.

it's just normal :) they usually use the ready made ones & then give you a disposible teat to screw on! x

in our hospital you have to take your own formula and bottles

At my hospital it is cow and gate ready-made in a disposable bottle/teat.

at my hospital they had simac or enfamil. my LO was supplemented because of jaundice

the hospitals here (or at least the one i was in) give you a choice of what kind of milk. its ready made bottles and disposable teats.

The lovely mw even gave me 4 to take home for the first few feeds so i wasn't faffing around with the steraliser etc x

I'd check with your hospital hun, I BF in hospital but had to supplement on my second night as LO wasnt feeding properly. They gave me SMA with a screw on teat, however they told me it would be the only one they gave me and I needed to get someone to bring me formula if i wanted to FF! It was 2 in the morning btw! You can buy starter boxes of feeds cow and gate and SMA which says they last for 48 hours so might be worth getting those to put in your hospital bag :)

Xx

The hospital I went to gave you a choice of SMA, Cow & Gate or SMA in 90ml bottles with disposable teats, it's just First Stage milk :)

At my hospital I gave LO ready made aptamil came in a bottle and they gave me disposable teats x
