First Cycle After Birth Control

This is my first cycle after birth control. I thought that I o'ed on CD14/15, but am not 100% sure. I am having some serious breast pain and nipple tenderness. I tested this morning (12DPO) and got a BFN. I know it's early and I could be pregnant, but I'm just looking for more info.

I've read that some women experience these "pregnancy symtoms" (sore boobs) after coming off birth control, but are not actually pregnant. Anyone here experience this, or anything else their first cycle after BC?

Good for you! I too am first cycle off birth control. Do not know if I ovulated or not and feel nothing- periods not coming, don't feel pregnant. Tender breasts are an early symptom so you could definitely be pg.

Hi there I am on my second cycle since stopping the pill and had a lot of breast tenderness during my first cycle as well as the need to pee more often, cramping, tiredness etc. I obviously wasn't pregnant I just put it down to the hormones leaving my system. You may be different though and could be lucky on your first cycle Good Luck!

I bled normal right after stopping the pill, the beg of july now this month i was 2 days late, and very very light for a week had no period 2 days then like a normal period so i'm not sure if i ovulated this month either... its only the second month after being off the pill, i was on it for 5 years so i don't know it's probably just hormones for me.. i've had insomnia, dizziness and headaches .. so yea who knows good luck though i'm still hoping i tested to early too.. Not sure this helped any though.

I had crazy symptoms during the tww of the first two cycles off bcp, but not so much this third cycle. And they were symptoms I never had even before I started taking bcp, which made things even more confusing. These symptoms included nipple pain and cramps before AF showed - completely new to me! I believe this is not unusual at all, though, given the many posts I've seen from women who just came off the pill and were not pregnant. Not to be a downer - you still could be headed for a bfp - just saying the symptoms aren't very helpful.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate all of the shared experiences. No one besides my husband knows we're TTC, so I really don't have anyone to talk to about this in my "regular" life. I'm sure many of us feel the same way.

I had the craziest pregnancy symptoms after coming off Nuvaring. I was certain I was pg. I had started using OPKs because I wanted to make sure I knew when I was ovulating. I got two positives a week apart.. and assumed I had ovulated the second time. I went to the DR when AF was a week late and it came back that I hadn't even ovulated yet. SO I am in my second cycle now ttc.. on cd23.. waiting to ovulate. Stuck in a limbo because birth control is stupid and messed up my body!

And nobody knows about DH and I either. Decided it is best that way for now.

I had very sore boobs my first month off BC and felt sick. I was on Microgynon for 10 years so I was quite expecting some withdrawal symptoms.
This month I think I've ov'd and I'm just into my 2ww now! I was surprised that I had a normal AF 28 days after my WB.

Sigh. I am really hoping my cycle returns to normal, if it hasn't already. I've never had such sore breasts/nipples before, especially for a week+. I would be beyond thrilled if I was pregnant and these were pregnancy symptoms, but ughhh, if they're not, it just hurts!

I stopped taking BC 31 days ago and my AF returned today! I'm so happy that it has finally returned as I had been very irregular whilst on BC.
I had sore breasts and nipples for about 3 weeks after coming off the pill and it has only just started to go! It's a big symptom of coming off BC.

I had decided not to wait to "try" until a normal AF because my doctor had suggested that some women get pregnant immediately and there's no real reason to wait. So DH and I "tried" this month, but if it wasn't meant to be, hopefully my cycle will regulate and I'll be getting my BFP soon...

I ovulated my first month off, so it can happen! I felt it too, the familiar pains...and I had crazy sore boobs/nipples and thought I was pg....so sad when I wasn't!

I ovulated my first cycle off BCPs (in May) and each tww has been different. One time it's cramps, another time I'm dizzy and nauseated, another time it's nothing, and another time it's extreme fatigue and uncontrollable crying! It's horrible because no tww since coming off the pill has been the same (now in my 5th cycle) and I've never seen anything on my tests except stark white.

My cycles since coming off have been 29,25,26,25 so I'm sure I've regulated to a normal cycle, and I get ovulation pain, so I know I'm functioning normally, but the hormones are weird every month. This month, for the first time, I've got sore bbs during ovulation. That's a new one for me. I think while you may ovulate and cycle like normal very quickly after going off the pill, your tww symptoms will be different every month for awhile. So yes, you could be pregnant, or your body could just be playing tricks on you like it does with me every month. Good luck and fx for you!

So, I've been trying to figure out how to differentiate the pain I have now from other breast pain I've felt. When I was on the pill (and possibly before... not sure, I've been on since I was 18 and who pays attention then??), I would get heavy/full feeling breasts a day or two before my period. It kind of felt like the outside was too small for the inside -- almost a stretching feeling, if that makes sense to anyone. And I would really only feel it when I took my bra off (lost support). What I'm feeling right now has lasted a full week+ and isn't really a stretching feeling, but more like a bruised from the inside feeling and my nipples are almost always erect/very sensitive! This NEVER happened to me before. And I feel all of these regardless of whether or not I am wearing a bra. Uuuugh!

Thanks for asking. I tested on Sunday morning and got a BFN, so I decided to wait until AF is officially late to test again (if she is...). AF is due to start today, but FX that she doesn't! I'll give it one more day after today and won't be testing until Thurs morning. I'll let you all know!

Hi there, I went off BCP mid April and I felt all sorts of weird symptoms. Weight gain, bloated, stomach cramps, but strangely enough, not sore bbs. My bbs were always aching with my pill AF, so I found this surprising.

I wasnt trying on my first month, so I knew that these symptoms were only from stopping the pill. If it is any use to you, I did get pg on the first month trying, but it wasnt a sticky bean unfortunately, but the symptoms I had were:

Constipation
Really really sore and sensitive nipples
Fuller bbs, but not sore

Fingers crossed for you that if this isnt your month that it will be soon.

I didn't have a period for 3 months after coming off the pill! Took my cycles a year to sort themselves out xox

Uuugh. CD 31 and BFN and still no AF. Hoping AF shows up soon.
