Just wanted to post since I am now in the TWW!! DH and I have been trying for 8.5 years and have had no luck, I have never been pregnant - we have been put in the Unexplained category.

We have just had our first IUI on Wednesday Oct. 3rd after having the daily injections of Gonal-F. The Doctor was very pleased with our numbers, I had one egg measuring at 22mm and DH's post wash sperm count was a whooping 124million!!!! He seemed very positive so we are trying to keep our spirits up!

Just wanted to share as this is ALL I CAN THINK ABOUT!!!!!

xoxo

Oh wishing you all the luck int he world. Those really are fantastic numbers! Fingers crossed this is finally it for you x

So my first IUI was a BFN - I was devastated.... CD3 today, had ultrasound and blood work... Doc upped my Gonal-F to 75ui - praying that we get it this month....

DH and I decided that we are going to look for a local support group to help us cope as we were both in tears when we got the phone call... I know its only my second attempt but I think it may be my last for a bit, not sure it I can handle the heartbreak of another BFN...

xo

Sorry to hear about your BFN.

I had my first IUI this week and I was using Gonal also. Just wondering what your dose was. I have had cycles with 1 follicle and one with 17, changing your dose slightly can really make a difference.

I had 9 follicles when I did my IUI so I am hoping that one or two take.

Sending you lots of baby dust for this cycle.

First IUI I was on 50ui, so my Doc only bumped it to 75ui, I asked for 100 but he said that we will revisit the amount during my cd8 ultrasound and bloodwork...

9 Follicles, that is awesome! I really hope that it works for you! Please keep me posted :)

No wonder you only had one egg. I have never heard of a dose of 50 but 50 is a very very low dose.

I started with 150 and they say that is a typical dose. Since I hyper stimulated I dropped to 75. I only had one follicle on 75 so they upped me to 112.5 and got lots. 9 are 1.5 and above but I have several between 1 and 1.4.

The dose for Gonal is in increments of 37.5 so 100 is not possible. I would suggest 75 because it's so easy to overstimulate.

The Gonal-F I am on allows for increments of 12.5, had my CD8 ultrasound and blood this morning and I have 2 follies, one at 17.5 and one at 13.5 so it looks like I will be O'ing early this month!

I am hoping for Saturday morning so I can reals for the weekend.

Hey ladies,

Hoping to jump in here. I am doing my very first IUI this cycle and would love to connect with others going through the same thing. I just had my CD8 u/s yesterday and had 3 follicles: 10mm, 9mm, 8mm. I am going back for another scan on Saturday morning. I am doing 75 units of Follistim (I am not sure how similar that is to gonal-f)??

I was excited about the scan...but wow...2 follicles at 13.5 and 17.5 at cd8 is like superstar, ha!

At what point did your doctors trigger you?

Good luck to you both!

3 Follies, that is fantastic! And they are all good sizes!! Keep me posted on your next scan...fx for you :)

Scan again this morning for me, looks like I will be O'ing on CD11 this month - Follies measuring at 20mm and 14mm so Doc advised to take 100ui of Gonal-F tonight in hopes that the 14mm follie bigger.......

So are you using a trigger? Or just ovulating naturally? I am just curious. 2 follies sounds great! 1 is all you need ;-) Is that growth from just over night?

Update from scan this morning, so my 14mm has shrunk to 12mm :( BUT my 20mm has grown to 23mm so it looks like tomorrow will be the next IUI (depending on my blood results today) - I do O naturally so no triggers....

The growth was over night, although the doc did increase the Gonal from 75ui to 100 - I was hoping that would bump my little 14 up, but unfortunately it didn't :(

This will be our last attempt until 2014 as it is WAY to emotional for us, it has been 8.5 years of disappointment so we just need to take a break from it all - 2014 will be IVF....

I'm surprised they are doing IUI without trigger. Since they know that you will O 36 hours after the trigger it is more reliable knowing that you are doing your IUI at the perfect time.

Best of luck to you, lets hope that this is the last one you need to do!

They just called and they want me to trigger tonight so DH is gone to pick it up now... I am glad I am triggering this month, I was surprised that they didn't want me to last month..... I just hope its not to late as I am having the IUI at 9:30am tomorrow....

How are you feeling, you had your IUI on the 17th so that is 8dpiui?

TTC4+yrs - I guess there was a little confusion over the trigger. Typically people take the trigger 36 hours before the IUI. If you look at my chart, I triggered on CD11 and FF says I Oed on CD14. I have heard on here that sperm that are washed don't live as long, not sure if that is true. Are you able to delay your IUI 1 day?

I am feeling good, a lot less symptoms than the previous months. My BBs were really hurting for the first couple days but I believe that is the HSG. I had lots of follies so I think that it has caused a bloating in my uterus because I can feel it when I push on it. I had a fainting spell one night, it was the day after the IUI, I don't think that is typical though.

Today I am 9DPIUI. I don't really count that because my cycle goes based on O. I am about 8DPO, maybe 9.

Let me know how your IUI goes.

anny0412, I didn't do well on Clomid. I only ended up with 1 follicle even on 100 mg. We refuse to do an IUI on 1 follicle. We did the IUI this month, we had 9 mature follicles so lets hope it works out for us. We are about the same position. Let me know how things go.

I have been reading about the trigger and am afraid that it was too late since the IUI was Saturday morning and I triggered Friday at 5pm... I am really trying to trust my Doctor that he has made the right decision, I know that my blood work indicated that I was surging so maybe he wanted me to trigger as well as an extra precaution...

The IUI was ok this time, DH's count was 143mil post wash so hopefully one of those little guys made it! I have my beta booked for Nov. 8th...

xo

TTC4+: Yeah, that does seem a little strange that he had you trigger when the follicle was 23 and then did an IUI the next morning? For me, they trigger when the lead follicle is 18 and we are doing IUI 36 hours later. Hopefully he knows what he's doing ;-) Maybe he's hoping to have the sperm waiting for the egg when it does release. Good luck to you!

Anny0412: Good luck on your TWW. I never had more than one follicle on Clomid either (at 100mg dosage). But, all it takes is one. My doctor always said "one is good", but then you read on these forums and people have like 3-4 follicles and you feel like an underachiever ;-). Do you have a beta scheduled?

TTC First: Good luck to you. WOW! 9 follicles. That's crazy. I'm surprised they didn't cancel the cycle? Do you have a beta scheduled? When will you start testing?

AFM--First IUI tomorrow morning! I'm excited.

Oh I don't know, I really want this one to work since it will be the last before IVF in 2014....

How are you feeling? You are 13dpiui right?

I'm going to join you ladies. I am 35 (almost 36) and been ttc our first for a year now. Testing for me was normal, but hubbies numbers were low. Met with the fertility specialist on Monday and started clomid 100mg on Tuesday with IUI scheduled for next week. First time for both.
Fxed for you all!
