Hello ladies! I just got my BFP today and I'm super excited, but so scared at the same time! I had an ectopic pregnancy in my left tube about a year and a half ago. We caught it super early and was able to resolve the issue with MTX injections, no surgery required.

My OBGYN is so unconcerned that I will have another tubal that I don't go in for a scan until I'm 7 weeks. Let me tell you girls, it's going to be a LONG month! I'm trying to be as optimistic as possible until I have a reason not to be just let's be serious, how can I NOT worry about it being in my tube again lol?

I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has any happy stories to tell me about having a normal pregnancy after an ectopic?

Even if you don't have a happy story, please feel free to share as well :)

Hello! It sounds like we have very similar stories. In February of last year we found out that we were expecting. About a week later I began to have some unusual symptoms that sent us to ER. They found a mass in my right ovary and my hGC levels were not were they should have been for 6 weeks pregnant. Thankfully they were able to give me two injections of metho and I was monitored for a week before I hit the 0 mark.

DH and I waited the requisite three cycles before we TTC again. Our first cycle out we got a BFP. Immediately we called the doctor's office and they scheduled an appointment with us at 5 weeks. We were told that there was a very small chance of the baby being ectopic again, but they wouldn't check until 7/8 weeks so that way we could see a heartbeat. At our 7w6d appointment we saw our small bean with a flickering heartbeat.

I can honestly tell you that every twinge I felt in my lower abdomen up until I saw that heartbeat made me freak out. I was constantly checking to see if I was spotting and making sure my breasts were still sore. Around 10 weeks I managed to convince myself that I had experienced a MMC and that we were going to see the physical signs of it any day. At that point our next ultrasound wasn't scheduled until 20 weeks. Thankfully/unfortunately I was in a minor car accident at 12 weeks. Our insurance coughed up the money for an additional ultrasound to make sure everything was good. We saw our little sea monkey swim around like crazy! It was the most awesome thing ever.

Now I'm in the "get the baby out!" stage with 2.5 weeks to go. I'm hoping she stays in until after Tuesday as DH and I have one last date planned, but if not I am completely ready to welcome her home.

Congrats on your BFP and I hope you have a wonderful nine months looking forward to holding your baby. I hoped my story helped.

Congrats on your BFP :) I personally haven't concieved again after an ectopic as I am just being monitored and bloods haven't yet came down enough. However I do know people whom have went on to have very healthy pregnancys and babies right after having an ectopic, my mum being one of them. So best of luck x

I had an ectopic in July treated with metho.. Waited three months as recommended and fell pregnant as soon As we began trying again. I was a nervous wreck at first.. Felt pain on my previous ectopic side. But scan at 5 weeks showed sac in the right place! Since then I've had a few episodes of brown spotting.. They've never found a reason for it but have told me not to worry about it unless it becomes heavy or red. Little baby was absolutely grand at twelve week scan and I've since bought a Doppler and listen to bubs once a week to reassure myself. Can't wait till July (that's when I'm due) dont think ill relax completely until baby is in my arms. Pregnancy after a loss is mighty hard! Xxx

Thanks ladies, I really appreciate you sharing.

I'm totally freaking out every time I feel ANYTHING going on down there. I'm trying to remain calm and positive until I have a reason not to. My first appointment is February 20th, hopefully I get good news and I can relax a little after that!

Hi mrsmohr and congrats!!!

We are so close, I just got my bfp yesterday 2/1, I had my beta drawn and it was 269 at 14dpo, so I'm guessing I'm around 4 weeks maybe even 3 something ?
Seeing I Od really early this month.

My ectopic was August so 6 months ago and we have been trying since! I too am being cautiously optimistic! I am so thrilled but scared too but I promised myself that I would let myself enjoy this and be excited until I had a reason not to!

At Least we can I through this together! Ahhhhhhh yay! I'm so thankful to be pregnant again.
I go back Monday for my 2nd beta, I go to an RE and their protocol is very strict.

Congrats on your BFP!!!! I'm so paranoid right now lol! So far so good though. My first appointment is February 20th so 18 more days to go. All of my doctors are unconcerned that I will have another one, they don't even want to do blood testing or anything. I'm going to call them on Monday just to see if they will so maybe my mind will be a little more at ease you know?

Did you have the injections or surgery to resolve the ectopic.

I'm so happy for you :hugs: and i'm happy to have you too....we can totally go through this together. Come join me in the October pumpkins thread: https://babyandbump.momtastic.com/p...-october-pumpkins-2013-a-27.html#post25182213

There are a ton of us due in October, we have a really great group of girls over there lol! I'm the only one that has had an ectopic though...it will be great to have you :flower:

Ok thanks ill head over, I had methotrexate ate and thankfully only one dose!

I am so thankful to be pregnant again - during my tww I was bummed and stressing about when will I become a mother and a girl said something that I've heard before, but this time it really stuck - she said - it will happen, you gotta have faith,

I kept repeating it over and over and ill keep doing so. Yay for October babies!! Ahhhhhh

I had two doses :) Well I've had two different doctors say that we have the best possible outcome for an ectopic since our tube didn't have to be manipulated with surgery. Woo Hoo!

Mine was a year and a half or two years ago...I can't remember now lol! My hubs and I have no problem getting pregnant. The last time (ectopic) we got pregnant on the first time we bd'd when not trying not preventing. This time I got pregnant on cycle two of trying. I'm just praying (like 30 times a day) that this on is in the uterus!

i know right. Im gonna check and see if there is an oct 2013 rainbow thread in the PAL section, if not i might start one. It will be nice to be with others, like us, that have expereinced a loss and are now preg again

Grace congrats!! I remember you from the ttc after a loss section! So pleased you got your bfp! Xxx
