First "real" AF...questions?!?!?!

Hello all! I just stopped the bcp a month ago and was shocked to find that AF showed up this morning like clockwork, 28 days later, as if I was still on the pill! I hope this means that I may be returning back to normal quickly! I was afraid that would not be the case since I am soon to be 34 and was on the pill for 15 years! I have a few questions that I am confused about and was hoping someone could help...

1. Since AF returned right away, 28 days later, does that mean that I am most likely ovulating?

2. DH and I plan on ttc this cycle and I plan on using the ClearBlue Easy Ovulation kit with the smilely faces. When should I start to test since I have no idea when I might O? Should I start on Day 6 or wait until Day 10??

3. I have read on some threads that people like to wait until 2:00 PM to test. Is this better for all kits or is the smiley one different? My instructions say that FMU is even ok...I will test whenever is best but 2:00 PM seems hard since I can't hold my wee for 4 hours in the middle of the afternoon and would have to test at work.

1) I would assume it means that but I don't think you can be sure until you start testing.
2) I would start testing around cd8 or as soon as you notice some cm changes.
3) I was testing first thing in the morning but I switched to afternoon and test at work. My sister uses the smiley face device and always tests in the morning and every month she still gets the smiley so morning should work too. For the first couple months I would test morning and afternoon until you see your first positive and then continue to do it the same way after that.

Hi there, sorry I can't really help with your questions, but I just wanted to say that I too just stopped BCP after 14 years on it, I am 30, and like you, I was surprised to find that AF returned right away. Exactly 30 days from the first day of my withdrawal bleed to the first day of my true AF, with EWCM somewhere around day 15.

The EWCM has made me think that I ovulated, but of course that isnt certain, so with AF out of the way soon, this will be my first month trying too. It is very exciting, but also very scary.
