Looking for similar experiences. I am 6 weeks 3 days pregnant through IVF and I made the mistake of taking a first response preg test this morning. The control line has been lighter and test line very dark. This morning this was not the case. The test line was lighter than before. I took a second test and same thing. The line was there but lighter than previous days. I took an off brand that was dark. Im a little panicked. Any experience? Thanks in advance. I miscarried my last pregnancy at 9 weeks but was not actively taking tests and I think this contributes to my paranoia.

Have you heard of the hook effect? As hcg increases the tests actually can’t cope and so they look lighter. Try adding water to your urine and then dip.

I would voice your concern to your doctor and have them run a couple of blood tests to relieve your worries. Or, possibly get in for an ultrasound so you can see that little heartbeat. I honestly think you are fine but I also understand the stress & worry having been where you are with pregnancy loss & over-worrying on the next pregnancy. I hope everything goes well for you & your little bean.
xx

Sounds like the hook effect it did the same too me with my 2nd son I added a little water and the test was then blazing its because there is too much hcg for the test to handle x

I would also say the hook effect, the hcg levels get to high for the hpt to register x

When I tested with my first I was about six weeks because I didn't realise I was late af for ages! The line was incredibly faint but I hadn't any reference so I assumed all was fine, and hadn't heard of any hook effect back then. I now have a sixteen year old to show for that faint line
