First scan 6 + 5 days no heart beat - chance of blighted ovum =(

I had an ultrasound last Friday at what I thought was 7w1d... the ultrasound tech could only find the sac, which was measuring at 6w1d... I broke down into hysterics (I know when I ovulated) but my dr said that it was most likely no big deal. I have no spotting or cramping and they're having me come in again this Friday to see if they can find the baby. Of course, I have a tilted uterus, and I was told this can complicate seeing things... I wouldn't get a D&C this early on though.

The D&C is up to you really. If they are totally sure it is a blighted ovum then get it if you want things to be done with quickly. If you are not totally sure or not ready to go down the surgical route yet, then there is no harm in waiting, there is no need to have it done as soon as Monday. Generally there is no risk to you if you wait a couple of weeks to miscarry naturally, as long as there are no signs of infection. Perhaps you would rather wait till 8 weeks and get rescanned?

Yeah I feel like the doctor's pressuring me into it. Like how could he know for sure? He wasn't there at the ultrasound... all he got was a 1 page, 4-5 line report that basically said there is a sac 7-9mm, no cardiac activity and no movement...

I'm going to do blood work in a few hours and see the results Saturday. Hopefully the hormones keep going up. But either way, I will ask for another ultrasound at 8 weeks, which is next Friday.
