First scan! I know one image is the face but...

So I had my first scan today, after thinking for weeks and weeks that I was having twins i turned out to be just one beautiful baby!

So I can see his face in the first image but what about the second, is it his profile or his back?

Also I am 1 day ahead of what I thought, so now I'm thinking it's a boy.

Looks like back to me. I had a scan of mine's face at that point and facial bones were pretty obvious, plus the skull shape was slightly different. I don't see the spine, but that could just be the angle. Ooh, actually I think it's back of the skull so the head is twisted away from the picture but the body is still in profile.

I think so as well, but the technician said 'profile' that's what confuses me a bit. Thanks for all your king comments... isn't it beautiful?? I feel like crying every time I see it!
