i'm currently at college, my OH works full time and is on 20k a year. i'm struggling to find a job at the minute as there isn't alot about, i'm 4/5 weeks pregnant now but i'm worried if we're going to be able to cope. we're going to be renting our own place which is about £500 plus bills, just wondered if anyone is in a similar financial position and wondered how they cope, many thanks

As tough as it may seem, you really do make it work.

You can buy most of the baby things, second hand. I just suggest buying the crib, as well as the stroller/car seat brand new, but everything else can be second hand! Lots of girls on here selling things as well!
Plus, you can stock up on diapers and wipes when things go on sale! There's a savings section here to let you know about deals, etc. As well as Wobbles has another forum called Talk Freebies, and there's lots of stuff there for the same things!
If you plan on breastfeeding, thats one less thing financially you have to worry about as well!

Just have to get little things here and there as you go, and then you'll be ready when it's bubba time! :)

Hey Sam,

Check my response to Rachel HERE where she's asking about financial help for new mums.

If you're not working before birth, it will be a bit different for you - but alot of the info should still help xx
