Not sure why they needed to name his GF, but they have said he recently broke her with her. It is also alleged he was also kicked out of his house by the landlord and his house was very messy. Apparently the GF lives on the same road, hence the child playing with April.

I love how this has been reported on. I hope no police or news team ever have to see the state of my house

I dunno why either Jem. I think it is mostly media sharing her name and stuff cos it is so easy to find that info on fb. So many upsides to social media, such as the information getting out so fast meaning more people to search early on etc but as many downsides too, like the innocent peoples names being suggested, the ex gf's name being used.

That's why its essential to have your FB private, don't even show who you are friends with, I imagine they are all getting hounded with friend requests right now

Yep mine is very private Carly, I dont even have it so people can message me if they arent my friends, just cos people freak me out not cos I expect someone I know to become a murderer.

My DH's wasnt very private and when his friend died from falling from a balcony abroad earlier this year, press started messaging him asking him for info on his friend, his friends family etc

You can tell when you read the papers that majority of the photos they use in stories are from personal FB albums!

I've been following this story all day since I got up and it's so upsetting I really hope she's found alive but I just don't know what a sick man to do this to a young girl the same age as his own daughter.
It really does put things into perspective for us though...it's so easy to take things for granted and spend our time stressing over the silliest of things like the house being a mess or our toddlers having a tantrum Ect..when all that really matters is that our lo's are safe and well with us..I've just been cuddling my boys all day..I really feel for this poor girls family

I think the media and also people on fb (and I guess even us to some degree) forget that these are real people, their lives are being affecte not just now but when we have gone on to the next news story and forever more. I doubt that village will ever be the same again

That is awful Some of the lengths press will go to is despicable.

Yep it is wrong how far they wil go. I think some were trying to make him out to be a piss head. DH never replied to them but rang their individual newspapers to complain about them and if they bothered him or any of his friends/his friends family again then he would go to press complaints. But then I guess it is the public's fault in some way as these details are what to sell papers.

Press conference: Investigation is still continuing. Mark Bridger still being questioned. Nothing significant. Searches still ongoing.. Family released a statement pleading for information and whoever has April to return her.. heartbreaking

Police will be continuing to search throughout the night and are asking for the public to consider helping again tomorrow. Next press conference will be held tomorrow. Anything significant will be communicated through the night xx

It is a landrover they have in custody. Similar to the car the children described.
