five year old missing!!

Have genuinely watched this all day & struggling to go to bed because I can't stop thinking about it. Horrible :(

too painful -- so sad.

Thoughts and love with the family and little April

Tash, something tells me that if he had something he was going to admit he would have done it straight away..

It makes you since, yes we teach our kids not to get into cars or go away with strangers but we don't teach them they also need to be wary of people they know. And more often than not its people you know that you do need to watch x x

And if he was known to the police for being a sex offender then surely the police should of told every parent.

Yeah,I was going to say, isn't that just musings of people, not actual fact?

Have u noticed when its genuine like this horrid case the family dont want to do an interveiw, but the ones where close family involved ot its fake they jump straight in to do one.

That sort of information is not as freely accessible as say in the U.S. Teachers, landlords and people of authority can and will be notified when needed, but general public cannot access that information. It's "against human rights". In the US you can find out whether a sex offender has moved into your area.

No but im just saying "if", seems strange the police knew who they wanted straight away.

Most likely yes :( Was holding on to the fact that he may not of had the chance to saying anything if he was drunk

Has this been reported that he was a sex offender?

No, no other information has been made available except his name and age and other small details etc. They will probably not release this information until they are certain he is involved. Though, the media has a way of finding these sorts of things out..

Yep! Its called Megan's law.

The UK are trying a similar one 'Sarah's law' based on Sarah Payne but its only in a few places and its only if say a mum gets a new bf then she can call the police and ask if he has a record relating the children etc.

This may very well be down to the child's witness statement. The type of car, and the fact the child may have recognised the driver. It could be a number of things. Also the fact he may well be a sex offender. Again, all just speculation at this point though.

This.

They were going to do a press conference this afternoon but then he was arrested shortly before.

Probably because the vehicle was quite rare in a small town, plus the seven year old may well of said it was such and such daddy, but they didnt report that cos it woul put April at risk.

Also, speculation that the girl she was playing with was Mark Bridger's daughter so surely if that was the case she would of recognized her own dad. So if that was the case she would of just told an adult who she went with hence they knew who to look for

Nothing has been said about him being a sex offender other than the Police saying he was 'known to them' and people assuming that could mean because he was a paedo or soemething. (Far as I know)

Yes. Again, it is all assumptions. The child who witnessed April being driven away probably was not Mark's daughter, there were several children playing out who left before the abduction. It may well have been a friend of this child who recognised such and such's daddy. This information would not have been released, such as they didn't say they were searching for anyone in particular as this would have jeopardised their search for him, and that was proven correct by how swiftly they found him.
