That was my first thought when they asked public to stop searching, that they were looking for a body.

The police can't give all details to the public otherwise there would be pandemonium. I think they know more then their willing to share at this point.

I thought they said they were gonna stop the search parties of locals as they feared they'd make it harder for the thermal imaging to trace April.

Helicopters have not been heard overhead for a while now. They also asked for volunteers to return in the press conference yesterday but have now gone back on that. They are saying it is due to the conditions around the river but unfortunately they wouldn't be looking in a river for a girl who was alive

Creative I understand what you are saying, but with genuine messages of support because you 'know' and 'understand' dont need to be done through the media.

I really believe they are looking for a body now, sadly. However, hang on to a little bit of hope for April that is purely a safety thing cos the river is beginning to flood so they dont want to risk any volunteers taking silly risks and falling in. I know the chances are tiny, but hope is important.

Actually I'd imagine they were hounded by the press, as they are every time a child goes missing in this country.

I imagine they will announce it straight away but possibly not confirm it is her until the body has been identified.

They would announce almost straight away if a body were found - though I'd imagine they would inform the family first. She would not be indentified for a while though.

I've got a horrible feeling about this. Felt quite positive last night but not now.

I would of thought within half an hour of a body being found. Police liasion officers would be with the parents and they would be rung immediately. The parents would be given a short amount of time to tell close family, then the news would be broken to the public.

But if that is the case then how come the Mccann's didn't make a statement when poor little Tia sharp went missing and considering Kates position as an ambassador for missing people it would have made sense. Sorry I'm a massive cynic when it comes to the Mccann's.

Has anymore been said on the pair of shoes they found yesterday evening ? My daughter is watching her 'programs' so unable to see the news. Hoping they find her soon, but have the horrible feeling in the pit of my stomach that it will not be the outcome everyone is hoping for.
