Hi there.I had my baby by c-section almost 6 months ago. Before I got pregnant I used to do 100 sit ups a day and had a falt tummy but after the c-section I cant really do sit ups any more as they hurt.Is there like a corset thing I could wear to help make my tummy flat again or any other tummy exercises? Thanks.xxx

P.S I posted in baby club last week but only got 2 relpys. Was hoping Id get more in here, thanks.

Hiya, i had a c section 9 months ago-i would speak to your doc if i was you as i don't think your tummy should hurt doing sit ups 6 months later? i know mine didn't. I went back to aerobics about 4 months after and have been doing sit ups ever since? x

I still felt tender there months after aswell, my tummy took a while to get flat again though and i breatfed till 7 months which i think helped x

my stomach still hurts sometimes... id love to give u advice but i have never had a flat stomach lol, i have great intentions of exercising and getting rid of the flab but i just find betters tuff to do like sit on here or watch tv... must stop!!

but yeah, see ya doc about the stomach

im asking for a tummy tuck with my next baby... :-p

I have no experience but it sounds like your abs are still separated or scarred. I would go to the doctor and go to physiotherapy. Good luck!

Mine still hurts, and emma is 15 months! Its the scar tissue inside I am told. Mine were however 1/12 - 2 fingers appart when they checked after I had her.

Problem is pregnacy stretches all your tummy muscles and then they got cut through, it takes a long time for that to heal.

You will be able to do sit ups again but you need to slowly work on your core strength, things like yoga and pilates will help.

But if it still hurts there may be a problem like the muscles actually having separated - speak to your hv.

I had a section 8 months ago and cant do a sit up, i can get about half way on a good day lol.

I had a section 19 months ago and even now mine still hurts a bit.. It takes up to 2 years and sometimes longer for you to recover fully from a section hun. Also mine starts to hurt if I wear trousers that sit on it for a long period of time.
I have a muffin top which will forever stay because its just skin and its awful. I hate it but its the joys of having children.
I hope you find something hun!

I had a c-section almost 3 years ago and I still dont have a flat tummy !! :( I have tried everything, power walking, pilates, yoga and crunches, nothing has worked for me :( I have been told that because it was an emergency op my muscles may have been damaged and I may never have a flat tummy again :( It is heartbreaking because my first was born naturally and within 1 month I had my flat tummy back. I still get pain in my scar area now, esp. if I twist or pull the wrong way, it feels like it is being stretched apart. Sorry I havent been much help hun, but one thing I do know is that you have to do an all over exercise to lose your tummy, just working on your core muscles wont help it go flat it will just give you a stronger core, I have been advised the best way to get an all over work out is power walking 3 times a week. Good luck. x

Hi hun. I'd go and see your doc. I physically couldn't do sit ups six months after having Grace, my muscles just didn't work. I think 6 months is still quite early, don't forget that all those layers on the inside have had to heal to. Ask your doc and see what he says xx
