hi ladies bloods came back fine so he has made an app with the fertility specialist for 15th oct feel a bit sad as though im broken but i suppose the app is nearer than i thought and hopefully they will be able to fix me xxx

not long till your app kelly how are you feeling about it? xxx

I am excited but so exhausted from school I haven't really been thinking about it, it only crosses my mind when I am on BnB... I have a midterm monday....eeek!

susan! that's great that your appointment isn't that far away.
Good Bloods is fab - that your hormones are OK. How did your mans s/a come back or have you not had that done yet?

Looks like things are really hotting up from us all - can't wait to finally get some ANSWERS !

Yes answers are great. Puts your mind at rest but if you get bad answers it sucks and is emotional. I am getting very excited but have so much to do with school that I haven't been thinking of it. My temp this morning was crazy low for 6dpo compared to all my other months temping but other then that not much has been happening.

hi dh went to the doctor yesterday to see about having a SA done but left feeling confused they said something about not doing it till 2 years of trying then said something about having bloods done then sent him away so we are not sure what to do wether to change his gp to mine or wait till the app next month and explain to them and they may want to do it?

Hey ladies,

Just want to pick your brains a bit as it looks like we will be going to the doctors soon. We have been trying for 12 months and all i have to show for it is an early MC ( I was in heaven for a week 1/2). What happens in that 1st appointment when you say you are having problems?

Wannabe they will give you the form for an SA so if you wait you will get one but it would be better to have one done before you go in I would think.

razcox it depends where you are from, mine took history and gave me form for blood work for DH and myself then when they came back good she had me come in for an HSG. She sent out our fetility clinic referral the first day cause DH had already had an SA done and it wasn't so great. Now we go in in 8 days!!!!!!! Yippee!

hello all,

razcox- sorry about the loss... i hope you get your answers soon..

i have started my thyroid supplements and meeting drs. tommorow to collects drugs for IVF cycle.. AF shd be here by monday :)

finally things are moving for me... i hope in a good direction xxxx

OMG - that's awful :hugs:
These people are supposed to be helping you - not confusing you!
I'd definitely change GP - that one sounds useless!

Drs tend to offer Fertility support after 12 months of trying.
SA and blood tests are the first step so they were on the right track.

I'd DEMAND the S/A and CD3 and CD21 blood tests!!!

Hey ladies,

Hey you xxxx

tell the Dr you've been trying for 12 months and that you need to know if anythings wrong medically - don't let them fob you off with - "oh keep trying for a bit longer then come back..."

They should send you off for a basic round of blood tests and your OH for a S/A. Some girls on here were sent off for the CD specific bloods too - that's good 'cos it speeds up the whole Fertility consultation - they've got something to work on when you see them for the first time.
I was sent for an ultrasound too.

Then if things come back on the light side you'll be referred to a fertility specialist - but it might take a few months before the appointment comes through.

Its weird really - TTC with no real success is a killer - and its really great to find out that there's something that's causing it - that you can fix.

but then... you know you can make eggs and you know the soldiers work...
I really hope its just something simple for you.... like low progesterone xxxx

It's devastatting when you find out there is something wrong but it eventually does make things easier because you don't get your hopes up or anything and getting the witch each month is a bit easier. Still sickening and frustrating. I am at the point where if it doesn't happen soon I am going to loose it. I don't know how some people have done this for years. I am at 14 months and completely drained at this point.

First off - Aussie!!!!! :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp: :bfp:
(you have no idea how hard they were to type in your journal this morning - lying on my side - trying not to wake OH while I tippy-tapped away on my phone!)
But really.... its just wonderful news! and you were inches away from starting IVF !!!!
That's certainly given me HOPE!

Well.... I had my 1st FS appointment on Thursday.
The nurse was lovely and took all the time in the world to talk to us.
We went through both our medical histories and talked about what we're doing at the moment. She looked at some of my FF charts and said a good, regular, 28 day cycle with temp rises after CD14 shows I'm Ov-ing.
But she gave me slips to book in my CD2/3/4/5 test and my CD21 test, and my Hycosie (that's the one with the dye and the x-ray or the ultrasound - to check for a blocked tube)
OH has got his urology appointment next week and they'll ask for a S/A - and then he's got to do another S/A just before our next FS appointment with the consultant......
in THREE MONTHS TIME !!!
OK - is it me or is that bloody ages away!

well.... unfortunately there's a reason for it...

we've got 3 months to make a few changes to our lifestyle.
Thankfully we don't smoke and we've knocked drinking on the head so we don't have to work on giving those up.
But... we do have to do the following:

OH has to wear loose shorts or tracksuit bottoms wherever possible (he wears boxers already - but he'll change out of his jeans for the evening)
We've both got to drink 2-3 litres of water a day! :shipw: ha!
We've got to cut caffeine out of our diets - and that includes decaff (that's gonna be hard)
and... on top of that we've got to follow a diet that keeps blood sugars balanced - its one set out by The Food Doctor.
I love the dried soya beans under the food Dr label - but we've got a lot to learn about the diet. We've got the book on order from Amazon and it includes a cook book so that should be interesting.
Apparently one of the rules is that you can't eat carbs after 7pm !

So..... that's about it really.
She's happy that we're taking the sanatogen his n hers tablets and that we're taking Omega 3 supplements too.
She didn't really say much about :sex: or the timing of it but I wonder if she guessed that we knew about timing!

Obe... how did you get on last week?

Cadz glad that you got your apt and things are moving. No three months for this kind of thing is not long besides you got about a bajillion tests to keep you busy. The HSG or dye test in painful so take something before you go and have someone there to drive you home. Also bring a pad cause you will bleed for a day or so. I will keep my fingers crossed that you get good results back.

oh thanks! I hadn't thought about taking a pad...

One thing I totally forgot to put in the list is that OH has to replenish his stock every 3 days - without fail. she said it'll work wonders for the quality....

Hope the diet book turns up tomorrow and we can throw ourselves into it properly!

replenish every 3 days? You mean have sex every three days for sure and don't wait longer?

caz yeah i think i will change dh to the same doc as me i think it will be easier!! thats alot to come out with from 1 app!! ive heard that when they do the dye test alot of people find they concieve after it as when they put the dye in it actually unblocks the tubes but not sure if there is any truth in that?? good luck!!

im sorry i knw i shdnt be butting in here... but as wannabe said about HSG .. its true beause my doctor said that doing the dye test can also flush out any mucus that may be blocking the tubes.. aor can improve the kinking of tube (if)..
my dr. did encouraged me to have that and told me it will increase my chance of conceiving. xxxx

ooh oooh - wanabe and aussie - that's FAB news!!!!
I've only got one tube so if that's all blcked up then the HyCoSy (I learned how to spell it!) might just do the trick! I can look forward to it as a possible 'cure'
THANKS!

Kelly - stock replenishment is to get some :spermy: action - inside or out!
just to keep the production line working and every 3 days is optimum for upping the S/A

OH has promised to make sure he 'sees to it' so long as I stop sharing details of my CM with him!

Its weird isn't it really... 14 cycles in is horrible.
I'm just going on to cycle 10 and it isn't getting any easier.
OK - the first month - when I thought it'd just HAPPEN - that was devastaing.
But now its just routine and more depressing that anything else...

I have no idea how the proper Long-termers cope!
