At what stage did you get booked in and get a date for your c-section?

I'm possibly having one for medical reasons (and previous very large baby!) and I have a growth scan today - soooo excited!

I'm seeing a doctor after my scan, will it be at this point now I'm 34 weeks that we start talking birth plans and c-sections?

How many weeks were you when you had a date booked? And what time do they say you have to go in on the date?

Hoping to find out all sorts of things today! Can't wait! Get to see baby again, get to know his approx size and weight, see if he is still transverse or breech and hopefully have a proper word with the docs about dates etc!

I was booked in for a C.section at a very early appointment, when I was 15weeks!

So I have known my LO's actual Birth~day for a long time now! :cloud9:

I have to go in pre-op appointment the week before, where I will be told what time I need to go in for the birth

Good luck :flower:

Hi there, I have been pushing for my C-section since 16 weeks lol! Only at my last appointment (28 weeks) did they agree to it and will only give me a date at 36 weeks - think that's pretty normal practice across hospitals tbh.

I am due to go for my next appointment at 35+4 weeks (only available appointment they had) to be booked in and I know they only really do C-sections at my hospital from 39 weeks but I am going to push for 38 weeks as I have been feeling so rough especially as baby is still breech !!

I know my hospital books C-sections (usually) for the AM and lets you out the next day!! But it depends when the Surgeon is free I suppose. With my first I had him at 34 weeks but was in a week with him, luckily because he was a good size and had no problems!!

Good luck!! Let us know how you get on! xxx

I went for a appintment this weeks, now 33 weeks preg. They booked me in there and then for a section on my due date and told me to be there at 7am on the day! X :)

Are you not worried about going into labour, as your booked in on your due date?...

fairly early i knew my penciled in date... sept 30th... i will be 39+1

I've been given a choice of going for a VBAC or for another section. If I decide on the section they will book the date when I'm 36 weeks. They said they will do the section at 39 weeks and if I decide to try for a VBAC they would only let me go a couple of days overdue before they gave me a section anyway as they won't induce here after a previous section.

I'm also attempting a VBAC. My C-section was booked months ago for Sept. 30th. My due date is Sept. 22nd therefore if I don't go into labour by the 30th a C-Section it is as my OB will not induce when their has been a prior C.

Assuming I don't have my little guy before then, I'm to call the hospital on the 29th and they'll advise the time to go in for the 30th. I'm scheduled for my pre-op on the 17th.

Very, wasn't happy when I left as the consultant made it very clear that she didn't want me to have a section, she kept repeating all the cons and when the assistant said to book the week before she refused! It's not that I am too posh to push, i have elected for one for very good reasons relating to the distressing birth experiance of my daughter. I am seeing my midwife in a couple of weeks so will talk to her about it. When we asked the consultant what would happen if I went into labour before my due date she said that I would have to wait for someone to be available and if I got so far dilated then maybe I could think about giving it a go, that was quite obviously her plan when booking me in on my due date. She also thought I was 37 weeks when at the appointment I was only 33 weeks and said she was sorry she was so late (over an hour) but she was reading my notes, she then went on to ask me and hubby what happened with the pre-eclampsia when I had my daughter and asked other birth details whilst reading through my notes so she obviously hadn't read them!!

xx

Mmm, that sounds like they really arent listening to what you want :nope:

I was due to try for a vbac with DS2, but at about 39 weeks, they were worried he was gonna be a biggen! So booked me for Csection....

I went into labout the nite before (i think from worrying!) & when I got to hospital, I had to wait around for ages, before I could go into theatre....Not a nice experience :nope:

I must be honest my semi-planned c section was easier to recover from that my emergency c section I had with DS1

This is why I am booked for another C section, dont wanna take any chances...I wanted to go in before 39 weeks, but they said no :dohh: Lets hope I dont go into labour again, cos I wont be too pleased :growlmad:

Good luck with everything :flower: If you wanna talk more, PM me :hugs:

My doctor said if Im going to have a c-section then she will probably book it in at my 35+2 appointment once she double checks how much fluid is around the baby etc etc...

i got mine booked when i was 37+5 due to my baby being a footling breech after a failed ECV

they wanted it scheduled for 39+0 but were all booked so i'm having mine when i'm 39+3
