Rocco is 11 months and I've been BFing him since birth. He started solids at 4 months and he's now up to stage three baby food jars. He backed off to about 4 BF's a day and my supply is really dwindling. So for about a month until I give him regular milk, I started supplementing with formula. I know the iron in it will make their poop hard or even constipate them. It's done the opposite with him! He even had a runny poop that went out the back if his diaper today. And he's been pooping 4 or 5 times a day too. Can this happen? Could he be lactose intolerant?

It's a good possibility, especially if he seems gassy as well. FF is supposed to give them poops about the consistency of peanut butter. That isn't to say runny poops don't happen; Carmen has leaked out of her diaper many a time. But if it's runny all the time, switching forumla might be a good plan. I've been using Enfamil Fussiness & Gas, which has less lactose and it seems to have done the trick for her tummy issues.

Our alex got really runny poos when we started him on Aptamil, but after a change to cow&gate his poos went back to normal. Might be a good idea to try different formula and see if that makes a difference.

If you're using Aptamil, it's notorious for runny poos! Chicken korma or peanut butter nappies are the norm for Evie and she's on Aptamil
If you're not using Aptamil then it might be worth having a word with your HV to see what's suggested.

We're giving him Enfamil Lipil. I thought since he's older, it wouldn't really affect him like it would a smaller baby. As far as trying new things I mean. He hasn't had a runny poo like that since he was really little.
But today I noticed it was more solid and he only pooped once :) I think maybe he just had a little bug. Or too much applesauce :)

OMG Scarlett has always had runny poo, on cow and gate and aptamil. I thought it was supposed to be like that  HV says breastfed babies poo is supposed to be a lot runnier than formula fed... I did wonder how that was possible.
