Er I nearly vommed! I'm so scared of the little things! Bought them Friday and defrosted this morning. It must have been frozen then un frozen. Do I have a grounds to complain or is it an occupational hazard with fruit haha? I've kept my 'little friend' to take pics of if it's worth complaining. I'm so lucky I saw it, I normally just chomp on them without looking. But thinking about it I could have eaten a whole family of them. Oh god.:nope:

Ewwww gross, at least it was dead I suppose

I would complain, it can't do any harm

Definately complain!! what kind of fruit was it? im gonna make sure I check mine now lol

Ewww... Definitely complain! Take it back into the store if you have to and dump the maggot on the customer services desk. Call customer services first though because they usually give better compensation over the phone. In store they rarely look into things and just replace/refund. Thats in no way acceptable. Yes it is kind of expected with fruit but they do have procedures in place to make sure that this doesnt happen! It would be different if you had picked the fruit yourself but a reputable store has a duty to make sure that doesnt happen.

Complain of course ! I personally am afraid of those things just like spiders, awful bugs. Make photos as proof and file a strong complaint!

I'm not scared of much creepy crawly wise except maggots. I screamed and flung the punnet at OH!

It was in a cherry in the black forest fruits. GROSS.

I would take it back but I don't think I'd kick up a fuss.

If it were processed food yea I'd be angry but fresh food there is a chance something will sneak through.

Fruit/veg grown outside so the odd insect/bug wouldn't make me angry

whats worse than finding a maggot in your fruit? finding half a maggot!

I bit into an apple and found a maggot, spat the apple out and tossed it in the bin called the store to notify the manager and went back to work albeit green around the gills but who wouldnt be!?

I have more respect for people who complain in a calm manner than "kick off" slamming stuff on the table and making a customer service worker look like an idiot for something out of their control! If the Manager acts like a jerk then by all means take it further!

Ugh, disgusting! I once found an earwig in a fresh strawberry I'd just bitten into. And recently half a slug when I was cutting open a cabbage, the other half was on my knife! Gross!

I'd just take it back for a refund/replacement. It's out of the supermarket's hands really, they should just replace it. There's always that chance with produce. I'm really put off by strawberries and cabbages now though, I bet you'll never eat another cherry without checking it!

I would take it back and see if you can get a refund. It's gross but I guess there's always going to be the odd bag with something in!

I'd take it back to the store for a refund/replacement but I wouldn't kick up a fuss about it, no need imo. Just explain what happened and they'll sort it out no problem.

Gosh, I must be pretty laid back as much it's not nice, I'd not bother taking it or complaining!

If you want to complain, then I recommend you do so. However, my personal opinion is don't.

With the nature of the product I am not sure what you will gain from the complaint. Fruit products can sometimes declare on the bag about potential stones and natural matter that may occur in the product, in which case you wouldn't achieve anything from the complaint.

Not nice to find though I must admit - but a hazard with unprocessed foods.

I cant believe people are saying not to complain?! Its not just any old bug or creature...its a maggot! It must have been near rotting fruit or in an unclean environment to be near a maggot!

Its disgusting, definitely complain.

I wouldnt complain. I'd just take it back and get it refunded or swapped. It's no ones fault really and thesr things do happen. Ot but I used to work in a deli counter. I was slicing some ox tongue one day and saw this wired dot. Sliced the next piece, bit bigger. A few more down it started to curl. Turned out to be a massive worm thing!! I was nearly sick lol x

Yeah it's the fact it was a maggot that has bothered me! If it was a little creepy crawly it'd be different but just ew. They were de stoned cherries as well so there was extra chance of someone seeing and it still went unnoticed.

Oh Beth that's VILE! Haha
