Ok so I know it is early on but as I am going to be a single (working) parent when LO is here I have been calculating what benefits I will be able to claim to help out with things such as childcare while I work. I have been using the Direct Gov.uk benefits adviser adn up until today, when I calculate it has stated that I will receive around £160 a week toward childcare costs plus around another £40 approx in child tax credits etc. but I have just been back onto the website today and all it is showing is that I will get around £130 a week IN TOTAL including childcare costs in that!! I have filled it out 3 times now and keeps saying the same. Does anyone know if this has changed as I am now terrified about being able to afford childcare!! :-s

If any knows anything about this or currently receives credits for childcare can they reassure me please!!

Thank you :) xxx

Im unsure why its saying different amounts, I wouldnt worry too much about it yet, youve still a while to go, over a year really, things might change with the new governemt in that time, so id wait and see. im sure you'll be fine when the time comes, life has a way or working out :)

You have ages to be worrying about things like that! Lol. My nursery fees are £371 a week!! I get most paid by tax credits but regardless its a hell of a lot..
Stop worrying about things. its not doing you any good. Enjoy pregnancy, things like worrying about finance and nurseries are only going to make it seems longer and more stressful than it needs to be.. :hugs:

I'm the same way. I worry and worry about things with the baby, especially money. But the other girls are right...no point in stressing over it now. I keep reminding myself there are girls making less money than me with less support than me who've raised beautiful kids on their own and I'll manage somehow.
