Ive rang epu not helpful at all really she kept saying you should of rang yesterday....and to take a prey test. I said what good will that do if I still have hcg in my system she didn't really reply to that. My booking appointment on Monday I hope she can book me for an early scan. I can't afford 100 for a private scan. Especially if there's nothing to see :'(

Call the EPU back and tell them you're really concerned, that it is very different to your last pregnancy and you've been told not to ignore mothers intuition.



I personally think you are absolutely fine, you just have to be really assertive with the EPU to get them to scan you unless you've had any bleeding.

They said they don't have scanning facilities at the weekend she also said sometimes they can get doctor to do it but not today. So unhelpful. All these worried mummy's over the weekends I explained I did have spotting around 5 weeks and she said it sounds like implantation bleeding. I did take a clear blue just now and still saying 3+ but that doesn't make me feel much better at all, she's silly for suggesting that. Xxx

It's good that you've had a 3+ clear blue... Although they're notoriously unreliable it's normally in the other direction (as in it will under predict rather than over.) like a HPT the HCG levels that give the 3+ week estimation have to be there for it to pick them up and give you the positive - meaning false positives/high predictions are rare.

At your stage in pregnancy, if it was a missed miscarriage I highly doubt you'd get a 3+ result now.

Keep strong, I know how unsettling it is but I'm sure everything is absolutely fine. If your EPU don't do scans on the weekend then give them a call first thing Monday if you're still concerned and push for one then. Xxx

Thank you Islabella for your helpful words. My booking appointment is on Monday at 11am I will ask my mW to refer me its same mW as I had with my little boy she's very good and got me an early scan when I had brown spotting. I just happen to mention it not concerned at all and she got me scan next day. I'm bricking it tho I'm going to have a mini panic attack on the day of scan I hate this waiting game. Xxx

Are you bleeding? In pain?

I would not expect to pick up hb on a home Doppler at 7+4! A doctor wouldn't even try then! As for sickness- mines just hit at 9 weeks, my sister has 2 girls first one she wasn't sick at all so when bub was 5 months fell preg again thinking it'd be a breeze and ended up violently ill 24/7!

I've had intermittent pains today though, hoping its growing pains and nothing sinister. I tried with a doppler yesterday for the first time, and found nothing, and I have 2 heartbeats to choose from! (I am 10 weeks 4 days). I know they are okay because I only had a scan a few days ago and they were doing really well. Even though many people can find a heartbeat early, most women can't until after 12 weeks or quite a bit later. Its all about position apparently. I don't think my babies like the doppler so I put it away, and will get it out later on in the pregnancy! Try not to worry, I bet you are fine, its hard these periods when we don't know so I do understand

My sore boobs left weeks ago, and like I said nausea was on and off every few days, as for your friend getting hb so early
- that's obviously a weird result! Even the companies that make them say don't try til 12 weeks. I tried mine Thursday before my scan and couldn't find it! And don't forget you don't yet know wether the placenta is anterior or posterior, if anterior it will be a good few weeks still til you've got any chance of finding it!

I bet you have a scan and see a healthy bean wiggling!

i do agree ^
not be harsh but could be causing you more stress than you need right now.
i can understand your worry, you could just be 1 of lucky ladys who has easy first tri and terrible second tri (i did with my first girl) or whole easy pregnancy. i woke up 1 day was ill as but previous day i felt amazing.
your little one is more likely perfectly happy in there and getting worked up wont be helping.

ive been very poorly last 10 days and was admitted to hospital and im worried about my baby too but ive got to wait till my 12wk scan as been no intense pain/bleeding.

Hun - I had a MMC in December. I still felt totally pregnant, sore boobs, fatigue etc. EVERY medical professional asked me if the symptoms were the same and they were. But my HCG was still sky high, my body still thought I was pregnant - my uterus measured 10 weeks when the baby measured 6w 5days. To be honest that's why it's "missed" you feel like everything is going ok... Again we are all different but that was my experience.

So I think you might be reading too much into this. I would NEVER deny mother's intuition so if you think something is wrong push to see a medical professional today. But fading symptoms are much more likely to be the placenta forming and taking over and do not immediately signal a MMC.

I agree I had a Mmc (blighted ovum) last gear and symptoms were still ther and hcg high and rising. Apart from the scan the only way I could have known is if they'd done blood tests as it was only rising slowly.

Maybe ask for some blood tests? I can't really see them scanning you with no pain or bleeding they refused to scan me though I'd had 3mc.

Good luck! Hopefully you have a very understanding doctor who will refer you for more test/scans

Hi ladies thank you for your responses. I too had a mc my 1st pregnancy my symptoms stopped and next day I started bleeding, no cramping though. I was 6 weeks. So I know the paranoia stems from that. I don't think I can relax until I've had a scan. Think its prob same for everyone. As from my friend she must be a minority who can find HB at 7 weeks. With my 2nd pregnancy... Who is now a healthy 1 year old, I bought a Doppler at 9+5 used it straight away and heard nothing. I used it again at 10 weeks exactly and bingo! Clear as day! I guess I am sort of expecting as this is my 3rd pregnancy so to speak that I'd hear sooner. But maybe that's just ridiculous xxx

They say with an Mmc symptoms get worse as your body realizes something is wrong and tries to overcompensate, sends extra hormones etc and that's why it doesn't get the signal to pass a deceased baby

Ohh I thought it was when baby dies but body doesn't expel. I didn't know the body would still give symptoms. I'm going to push for a scan tomorrow for sure. Thanks again xx

Yes the body doesn't expel it because hcg stays up, and hcg is what causes symptoms

I'm 8 weeks today but going by my ovulation im 7 + 2. My symptoms have all vanished now! No sickness no tiredness my boobs get sensitive occasionally but I'm still breastfeeding my 1 year old. They were mild to begin with but now nothing! I'm afraid I've had a mmc :''-( my 1st mW appointment is on the 7th

Update: after days or trying to find a HB on Doppler I've found it!!!! So happy! It was quiet but a lot faster than my heartbeat! Can't wait to tell oh! 8 weeks today by my dates but 8+6 mW dates :-D thanks everyone who gave me faith to keep searching! Lol xxx
