frequency of mw visits...

Ok so in my green notes and governmemt guidelines say visits after 28 weeks should be 2-3 weeks....but my next visit from 28 weeks is in 4 weeks time...considering this is a high risk pregnancy and im consultant led but my cons has said i can be mw led but this frequency of visits etc has me a lil concerned or this normal?

I had visits 28 weeks 31 34 36 38 and will be 40 but I think 31 is only for people who's first baby but it 100% sure. Maybe your 31 week is just at 32 because of some reason as long as they get every two weeks near the end if should be find x

Yeah my midwife told me they are starting to cut out the 31 week appointement - but I went anyways! Considering you're a high risk I would have thought you would have been seen earlier but there is usually a reason, maybe speak to your mw about it xx

Hi Hun, I'm consultant led too- had 28wk appt, then will have 32, 34, 36 etc.

This is my 1st baby. I had checkups at weeks 28, 32, 34 (this one for some reason I had to book with my GP, something they like to call "shared care" - I didn't book it after all as was in bed all week with flu but nobody has noticed), 36, 38 (also at GP) then it's meant to be 40 & 41 but for some reason they've booked my next one for 39 weeks.

I had a 31 week appointment but that was with my gp, and my 28 and 34 are with my midwife. Maybe it depends how stretched they are.

Hi I am on consultant led care also, 36 weeks pregnant with 2nd child. My apt seam to be pretty random. I've been seen at 9,11,16 by midwife then at 19 after scan by consultant, then midwife at 26 and 31 weeks. Consultant again after scan at 33 weeks midwife 34 weeks then I'm seeing her again this week (36) got consultant after scan end of next week.
I think they just make it up as they go along

Lol i think you might be right about making it up as they go along lol! Its odd my mw is a lovely woman but it always feels rushed and she hasnt even discussed birthplans etc with me yet or anything like that, despite knowing that baby might be prem and wont discuss a tour of the labour ward till im 36 weeks, well i could have had her by then lol! Shes not asked if iv booked antenatal classes, the hospital im booked has private ones that you have to pay for, and im just feeling a lil deflated tbh xxxx

Im consultant led too, and ive only seen midwife 5 times, i was supposed to see her this week but there wasnt any appointments so im going next week, silly thing is ive got consultant appt 2 days later and the midwife does all the same checks before im seen.

Yea mines pretty useless as well always seems rushed never remembers I already have a child and considering im on consultant led care because first child was born small you would think she would remember lol. I had to see a different one last time as mine was away and she was so much nicer!

Its all a bit peculiar to me tbh!! i think i expected more in all honesty, i know how busy they are, im a nurse myself so i get the being uber busy lol but there needs to still b time spent with each individual mum 2b. Iv a load of questions i wanna ask but havwnt had a chance to yet at all xxx

It's been 8 years since I was pregnant with my last child and my midwife seemed a lot more friendly and seemed to have more time don't know if that's because it's a different midwife or if they are just busier these days. Or maybe that ont I've you as much time with our second who knows
