Frequent Braxton Hicks?

I have been quite active the last two days and noticed yesterday evening that I was getting lots of braxton hicks (probably every 5-10 minutes for a couple hours). I sat down and rested for the evening and they subsided but as soon as I started getting stuff done around the house this morning they started back up.

Does this mean that my body needs a rest and I am overdoing it? I remember getting them frequently last pregnancy but not until my third trimester. This time they started at 17 weeks which seems awfully early! Anyone dealing with the same thing?
 
Are you getting drinking enough water? When this happens, try drinking as much water as you can and lay on your left side for 10 minutes. Should take care of it. If you are more prone to an irritable uterus, try to take it easier if you can. Sometimes its hard to slow down, but necessary. The laundry and dishes can always wait!
 
I had them every 3 min for 2+ hours Saturday evening. I was dehydrated. I walk 3 miles/day, and that particular day, I didn't take water and it was hot!
 
Thank you for responding :) I did a lot of walking on Sunday and definitely didn't drink enough while out. It took over a day for them to settle down but for the moment so far so good. I drank lots of water and that seemed to help. Really hope they don't come back so frequently...not fun :(
