My 7month old still nurses 8-10 times a day. If you had a frequent nurser, when did yours start to drop feeds? She used to nurse 6 times from 2months - 3months, but then for the last 4 months it's been every 2.5 hours sometimes less. I dont mind it in the day, but the night is killing me, and I dont really see any end in sight atm!

My 7 month old nurses anything from 5-8 times a day now, down from 12 times a day prior to starting solids at 6 months. He has started dramatically cutting back though - in fact I'm worried about it! He hardly bf's through the day now and really only takes much at night. I'm so confused about how much a baby of this age should be having...

Is your baby on solids?

It started to lessen around 9 months for us. Now we're down to 4 or 5 times a day with solids 3 times a day. Some days she doesn't eat much and just nurses for a longer period of time.

Yeah, I was hoping 9months would help... Yeah, she's on solids, I find if I give her Porridge (oats) before bed she seems a bit happier, but im only talking a tiny bit :p Well actually, she is happy, just goes longer. She's having lunch and dinner and not really breakfast.

Between 7-8 months Chloe went from feeding every 2 hours to every 4-5 hours! We are blw so its not that she is eating a huge ammount, she just spaced her feeds out. If we are home she might feed more frequently, but if she is in any way distracted or we are out and about she will go hours between feeds.

Lauren's almost 18 months & if I'm with her, she feeds probably every hour (& not a lot better though the night). She's fine the days I'm at work & quite happily goes 12 hours then! But if I'm around, she wants milk all the time!

Yeah, we're baby led weaning too! Although, She's such a good eater atm, she can eat heaps, and then even more milk!

Maddie has dropped to 4 feeds (6am, 11.30am, 3.30pm and 6.30pm) since 9 months... back at 4/5 months she fed every 2 hours during the day xx

I just came on here to ask the same thing partly. Mine's only 3 months old so it's a little scary to see other babies are feeding every 2hrs past 6 months - but also in a way it is reassuring to see it's normal & now I know to just expect it for a good while yet. I was just confused because LO had started spacing out feeds to 2.5 or 3hrs a few weeks ago but then last week decided to do every 2hrs again. I'm finding it very isolating because I don't drive & not on a bus route so playgroup/clinic/doctors/shops are all at least 40mins walk away & i find it so difficult to get to these things with feeding schedule every 2hrs because I have to time things just right and also plan for the way back too. I bought a great breast pump but hardly used it because there's just not enough time between feeds. I would love to have a freezer stash so I could take a bottle with me. Aaargh! Anyway sorry for the mini rant lol.

Hasn't tapered off yet, still every 2 hours or more during the day. Just once or twice at night and once (just once!) he STTN.

I think there is a big 3 month growth spurt, so it makes sense for her to want to drink more around 3months. Do you feed in public? I'd maybe just stop on the way on a bench or cafe or something if I had to. Not that I go out much by myself atm! She'll probably space them back out again I'd guess. Im pretty sure Ella had some allergy problem so got into a cycle of wanting to eat constantly, ad is maybe now still catching up on calories she missed.

I wouldnt even mind ever 2hrs in the day if she'd give me at least 3 hours in the nights :/ It's 2.5 or less atm, has been for 3 months! Daytime she has about 6 feeds from 7-7. STTN is a dream :p
