Frer quality

Hiya,

just wanted to find out if anyone has experience Of frers going down in quality. My last pregnancy in 2018 at same as today 19dpo showed the right line all the dye completely sucked out of it but on this pregnancy I didn’t get a positive 3+ digi until 5+2. This pregnancy the line is still progressing but the right line hasn’t sucked as much out but is getting lighter but slower even though I got a 3+ at 4+5 with this one. It’s totally confusing. Also this one my 9dpo test was barely even there at all but IC was clear. My 2018 line also doesn’t seem as strong as today’s?

I can only put it down to frers not being as great quality I mean theoretically it should be way lighter right line considering I got such an early 3+ right? Anyone have any thoughts or experience. I’ve had 7 losses so very nervous at the min

third is all 3 dried at 10 min time limit (they are all getting darker right and right line fainter?)

And this is 1pm on it’s own today right line defo thinner and lighter so still sucking dye but once upload on here always ends up distorting it

I think those lines look great! I never got a great line with FRER, always got better lines with cheaper tests for some reason!

Those are all BFPs. The faintness of the lines don't really matter.. a line is a line. Congrats!

Your lines look alot like mine do with this pregnancy on the same days. I've never compared tests with previous pregnancies before as I didnt know it was a thing just like the testing before af was due. I'm stuck in the dsek ages lol would you like me to post my frers from the same days as you? Xx

I had something similar happen this pregnancy…had a FRER with a SUPER light control line sometime during my fourth week and then when I used another one at 5+1 (same day I got my 3+ on the digi) the control line was not as light as the one the previous week had been.


I’m at work right now but I’ll see if I can dig the photos up later and post them.


My HCG turned out to be at the high end of normal and I’m currently 37 weeks so obviously all was well. I’d say if you got 3+ on a digi you’re in good shape! With my first son my HCG was 4278 and I STILL got 2-3 weeks on a digi that day (it flipped over to 3+ the next morning).

The issue is the control line never went really faint then darker just been like these ones my sons did though as pictures but his 3+ was 4 days later than this one so totally confused. Just praying I don’t have an 8th loss

All tests are different. I think your lines look way too amazing to worry but hun I can totally understand why you are worrying after having so many losses

I did a digi this evening with 3.5 hour hold with a large cup of water before I held and it was 3+ again but inside strips were way darker. So frer quality can’t be as good anymore

Wow I've never seen a line that dark inside a digi!

FRER are useless. They used to be the best tests out there and I don't know what they've done but the tests have gone downhill so badly and caused many ladies so much heartache

Great lines hon.

I found that when I hit 6 weeks my lines started getting lighter and I really panicked thinking I was going to have a Misscarige but I was told about the hook effect.

I had never heard about it b4 but basically at around 6 weeks the HCG level can be so high that a pregnancy test gets confused and will give u a fainter or sometimes even negative result.
So I had to dilute my pee. 1/4 pee to 3/4 water.
I really thought It wudnt work but low and behold i did it and got my really dark lines back.
Wierd.

I bought two different batches of FRER in superdrug , one with Spanish on the pack and white individual packs instead of pink. They seem to give better lines. I did the one like you have with the same urine and the line was lighter and thinner. However it was 12dpo and a better line I would usually get at 12dpo but in contrast with the other one is was quite bad. So yes i think something is up with them
