I have noticed the same with FRER. Haven't used them since 2010 but had a lot of success with them in 2010 with my son. Got a BFP 9 DPO for him.
This time, I had suspicions I was pregnant and got negatives on frer digitals until I went to the dr. and got a positive test there. Then, tried a frer digital when I got home...test said "no". Tried again the next morning with a FRER digital and still "no". Broke it open and there were two lines...hm...
Today I tried clearblue +/-. clearblue digital and FRER line test all in the same cup of urine. +/- was positive right away, FRER was extremely faint. and the digital was a dud.
After seeking advice on here I heard about the hook effect (according to my cycle I am at least 6/7 days late or I ovulated super late). Anyway, I diluted my urine with water and tried another FRER and it was much more visible.
I do think FRERs quality has gone downhill.
1st pic-- +/- with very faint FRER
2nd pic-- diluted urine FRER
taken within 2 hours of each other
