I was straining earlier to go to the toilet which was eventually successful but upon wiping, I noticed there was some bright blood which definitely came from my vagina.

It disappeared as soon as I'd wiped and then next time I went to the loo (this time just for a wee) I was dreading seeing more blood but there was nothing!

I've had no pain whatsoever so looked around on Google for an answer (as you do??!!)

I read that you can have what's called a friable cervix which means its sensitive to overstraining when going to the loo or having sex but then the blood completely disappears. This would make sense for me and give me a less worrying answer. I had some spotting at week 6 but it only lasted a few days, no pain. Had an early scan, everything fine, heartbeat found so I was really relieved.

Has anyone else had anything similar as I'm hoping the spot of blood which has not yet returned was just due to the straining.

Yes, I had the exact same thing. I started to bleed after going to the bathroom at 9 weeks and went to the ER. I had to get a shot because I am RH- which means I am A- blood type and have to have a Rhogam shot. Anyways..the dr. said I have a sensitive cervix and sex and putting too much pressure on it would cause bleeding. it lasted till about the end of the 2nd trimester then it went away. I had to make sure I ate a lot of fiber and didn't have wild crazy sex haha...Its super scary though at first! But you will be just fine :)

Thanks for that, it does make me feel a lot better

Hi xmrsbx and everyoe else

I can understand why you would be worried! I am in my 7th week of pregnancy and since last wednesday have been noticed brownish discharge, saw the doc the next day and she told me not to worry as can be common in some women. However, since the weekend i am now seeing really pale pink discharge, especially at night. I went back to my GP and she said that since i am worried she'll refer me for an early scan. The clinic however, refuse to see me until i do another pregnancy test this friday (7th week will be complete by then) and if i still get pale pink discharge then they will reconsider seeing me! Very annoying and worrying...i mean why another pregnancy test....i've all ready done four! (including the GP surgery) and all very positive! I am thinking about going for a private early scan. I have been trying 8yrs and have had 1 failed IVF attempt...really worried...for the last few days i don't feel very pregnant...suddenly the nausea and the soreness of breasts vanished and i am in my 7th week....is this normal?

I got my scan at 6 weeks by phoning the doctors surgery and telling him over the phone what was happening. He said if you are still spotting 3-4 days later to call again and he will get a scan booked. I was still spotting so called him again and I was booked in for a scan 2 days later.

When I went for the scan I was asked to have a full bladder, and even though I downed 1litre of water beforehand, the abdominal scan showed nothing. So they made me do a pregnancy test, empty my bladder, then they did an internal scan. We saw a little blob which is our baby and there was a heartbeat.

Apparently spotting is really common in early pregnancy and as long as there is no pain, things are usually ok. If you are at all concerned, then I'd definitely advise pushing for a scan. My nausea got so much beter after the end of week 7, I still have the odd day here and there of feeling sick but its much better than it was! Good luck.

Do sorry for all the posts ladies, I deeply apologize, and thank you all that can possibly help me.

I have been freaking out June 24th. I found out through a +HPT on June 28th that I am pregnant, June 30th got the positive blood work. Anyway, on June 24, I DTD with my SO and right away after sex I bled/heavy spotting (medium pink to light red in color) lasted a day (eased up as the day went on) and then went away. Now, to turn the tables, my SO is a truck driver and is gone for 2 weeks at a time and there have been a couple times in this past week (two separate occasions) that the mood hit me just right and I took matters into my own hands. I had orgasmed from clitoral stimulation only. The first time there was barely anything and it went away quick that was 3-4 days ago. Last night I got I the mood again and it hit right after I orgasmed but this time it was heavier (just like on June 24th). However, it got to be a watered down red really quick then went to pink but I had a teeny tiny thin stretchy piece of tissue I think. This morning woke up and had a really small dark red streak, just once and it was done. The spotting kept lightening up as the day went on, now it's gone.

I do have cramping, however I have bee cramping since ovulation, and I cramp a lot anyway. The cramping is mostly very mild, I can get spikes of moderate cramping for about 3 minutes from time to time, it doesn't linger.

I'm freaked out beyond belief, thinking that my body may be trying to miscarry, but I think if it was it wouldn't be having a day of spotting here and there and the spotting is ONLY brought on by sexual activity (sex/masterbating) I wrote to my doctor, waiting to hear from her. But does it sound like a Friable Cervix?
