FTM Engorgement and sore breast..... help?

Ok my baby girl is 4 days old and my milk came in last night. Well i want to pump to take away some of the discomfort but doing that will only keep my supply up and wont settle the problem. So is there a way of dealing with the sore breast with out draining?

Sometimes I would hand express a very small amount just to relieve a little pressure. Or take a hot shower/bath, that always felt very nice (though would turn my boobs into faucets!).

Hang in there! It'll get more comfortable with time. I think it took about 6/7 weeks for the engorgement to be mostly under control.

Definitely hang in there... it does get better! Have you tried lanolin? Or is the pain from being engorged? If that is the case, nurse more often to relieve the fullness.
