So heres my birth story!!
I had been having lots of braxton hicks and lightening crotch at night but early hours of January 13th I felt i leaked a bit so went to the loo and wiped pinky tinged water but was only a little. Im rhesus neg so rang the assessment unit who told me to go in at around 8am by which point I was having mild period type pains. they did a speculum and said it wasn't waters but just a show so went home with a pad on to monitor. I wasnt convinced it was just a show as I was slowly leaking the fluid all day and at 2am on 14th January the pains started coming more frequent and more painful. Unsure if they were actually contractions I started timing them and although they were frequent and painful they weren't too regular. I rang the birthing centre who booked me into the assessment unit for 9am. I woke OH and rang my mum at 5am so they could support me through the pains til we got to the hospital. I had another speculum and they confirmed my waters had been slowly leaking so booked me in for induction the following day but after observing me having these pains I was put on CTG which picked up my contractions but still werent too regular. Some would be 3 mins apart then nothin for 5mins. I was sent to birthing unit for observation expecting to be sent home again but midwife checked me and I was already 5cms! By now the pains were intense so I tried gas and air but hated the woozy feeling so just continued breathing through them while the pool was being filled. As soon as I got in the pool I had the urge to push and midwife confirmed I was already 10cms. However my contractions slowed, midwives couldnt keep the water temp up andbabys heartrate dipped so I had to get out of the pool to deliver. At 13.28 on 14th January my yellow bump turned pink! Bonnie Emily Jessica weighed 5lb 1oz so we were kept in for observation where they picked up an extra beat in her heartbeat. We have got to have a follow up appointment with cardiology but she is just gorgeous and we are so in love sorry for the long post and thanks for reading!
