I'm only 23+2 and I can't understand why I'm measuring so big. She is really high up so I'm wondering if its just her position or something else. I have only gained 12lbs so far and I never measured big with my daughter. Its also the same doctor as my first pregnancy and he does all the measuring.any input for this? Thanks :)

Have they/will they be scanning you to get a better idea why?

I had the opposite problem with my last baby-I measured a month behind at 28 weeks, and had to have scans.

My amniotic fluid was low and she was smaller than she should have been (was born full term 7lbs 8oz no problems in the end)
But I don't know how accurate the fundal height is alone.

If they haven't offered additional ultrasounds, I'd push for one honey.

I had this issue at my 24 week doctor's appointment too. My doctor was apparently so surprised she measured it twice. In the end she didn't seem worried as I've only gained 9 lbs. Maybe if we measure big next month they'll want to do a scan to see why? This is my first pregnancy, so I'm not sure what to think. But as my doctor wasn't worried, I'm not really either.

No he didn't offer to have a scan yet but maybe if I'm still measuring big I will ask. I'm really unsure what to think. He did seem surprised but not worried.....

Maybe this will help where your fundal height should be at 23 weeks as apposed to 27...

I measured big at my 24 week appt too and my midwife is making me get another ultrasound. I've inly gained 10lbs and she even thought I looked small. So it's kind of weird. But she didn't seem that worried, she just wanted to make sure.

I was measuring 28 weeks at 24 weeks. My midwife wasn't worried at all. It's a really inaccurate measurement and is dependent on many factors including the baby's position. I had just gotten an ultrasound at 20 weeks and everything was great and I haven't gained very much weight so I'm not concerned. Try not to worry :)

OK thanks for all your help ladies! I Have a strong feeling its her position but she is extremely high. Like up between my ribs which is crazy....I didn't think babies would be so high up there. My doctor even said "woah shes IS really high!"

I was measuring 25 at my 23 weeks appointment but he measure 6 days ahead at my ultrasound so my doctor didn't seem too worried, he said that we will keep an eye on it as we get closer as he has a feeling he is going to be a big boy.

I'm also two weeks ahead. She's already kicking way above the belly button. It's just position Id say.
