Funny (ish) story to lighten the mood!

Hello all,

Its official, I'm going mad! I was in Asda yesterday and found myself staring longingly at a beautiful sleeping new born baby in the child seat of someone's trolly. I was smiling away at this baby and then realised it was a bloddy doll!!! Damn realistic though... And I saw another couple of women arguing over whether or not it was a doll later on so I didn't feel quite so stupid in the end.

OMG if I'm like this after only 20 months of TTC, there's no hope for me!

lady in sainsbury's once pushing round a trolley with a very still baby and to this day I'm not sure if was real or not!

OMG I remember watching a show about those dolls and one woman had lots of them and treated them like real babies - I really don't know what to think about them

its weird when people treat them as real babies though, i saw that program where people bought prams/clothes for them etc, weird!

I can understand people having these dolls - I would if they weren't so expensive because they are beautiful, but why would you take one shopping with you?!!! They're not real!!

Yes! that must have been one of them I saw, I couldn't stop staring at it mainly cos it looked so real but there was something so pale and unusual about it. Couldn't work out if it was a real baby or not!

It is mad how real some of them look though, I think I'd have had to look a few times to be sure lol

Some of them have heartbeats and breathing mechanisms. That freaks me out. The ones that don't, though, they are so still, so lifeless. They look real but they look...dead.

My friends little girl has one and insists it is looked after like real baby, it has a car seat and everything lol. I left it in the car once whilst I nipped into the shop and came out to find a very irate woman waiting by the car to give me a rollicking! She was very embarrassed when I eventually got a word in edgeways and told her it was just a doll!

lol, I know... sounds a bit mad, my mum with a doll. To be honest, I have no idea other than she just thought it was great that it looked so real. Cost a fortune too!!
