i started to give lo ready made cartons to see which formula she would like - once i found the right one cow and gate i bought the big tin - however it tastes completely different to the ready made carton - has kind of a tinny taste and lo don't like it

anyone else come across this? do you think it could be the tap water, i might try using bottled water

i have also tried powdered SMA and it gave the same tinny taste uhhhhhh

Have you tasted it?! :D

I don't think you can use bottled water but don't quote me....try googling x

No, you shouldn't use bottled water.

Some LOs don't really like powdered formula, so I've heard. I've not tried it personally, I'm so lazy I'm willing to foot the cost of ready made.

depends where you are from - strange but true
in the uk we are told never to use bottled water, but in the us it seems to be standard?
personally i have never tasted either lol

I'm assuming that if you live where the tap water is drinkable then that would be best for your little one x

thanks all

i have tasted both c & g and sma powdered milk and it tastes gross - the ready made carton is not great but when i make her baby rice with the carton milk it tastes like baby rice and when i use the powder the rice tastes like tin - lol

i don't miind using the ready made cartons but at the moment im only using it to add to her food as im still breastfeeding - it seems a waste of money when im only usng a little amount

i think i have a lo who doesn't like powder formula then - damn!

I started Katie on cartons because of this she won't drink the powder lol, I don't mind tho as I find it easier.

We used the cartons at first, but only for when we were going out to save the hassle of making up bottles and worrying about powder, but Harry didn't like them at all. We think they're slightly different to the powder so we've decided not to bother as it's not worth the hassle of the sick and upset it causes.
