Game of Thrones!

So only just joining the thread but my soul has just been destroyed. I don't think I will ever get past this

I seriously just watched it, and all I want to do is curl up in the corner rock back and forth and cry. Traumatising!!!

I'm still waiting to watch! OH is on his way home now so we're gonna sit and watch once Parker is in bed. Have already read the spoiler though, I can't help myself :dohh:

I knew what was coming so it wasn't as shocking as it might've been otherwise, but it was still quite... graphic.

Here's a Q&A with Michelle Fairley (Catelyn) if anyone's interested. It's still going on actually.

Someone on my FB was kind enough to post a status giving away the details... so I knew what was going to happen before I watched, and I was still absolutely in shock at how awful it was to actually watch.

Woah. Just woah. I'm in utter shock.

And totally on edge and there's now a police helicopter circling above - my nerves are SHREDDED!

I've been thinking about Arya- I really hope she becomes some sort of ninja-killer on a mission, like a female jakken haggar (no idea how he spells his name!) but fueled with rage and vengeance! She owes so many people a good beating to death at this point.
And bran with his new-found warg skills! I hope he gets into the heads of a few certain people, gets them to lock themselves in a room &set the room on fire, then pops out of their head!
I can't believe how much I hate some of the characters!! As in, they are so well written that they are vile, amoral people that bring out the dire wolf in me :haha:
Night ladies :winkwink:

Anyone else excited for the Gay of Thrones recap this week? :haha:

What is this?!?!

How soon can we actually start talking about this?! I'm dying to.

Without spoiling, I have to say one of the things that I love about this series is the way that it refuses to subscribe to convention, ie there's no tidy moral satisfaction to a lot of events or choices that characters make; it doesn't pretend life is fair or pretty, heroes don't always manage to be heroes, and in fact it is becoming pretty hard to tell who is meant to be 'good guys' and 'bad guys'; the guy doesn't always get the girl and evil deeds are not always avenged.

I totally agree. I remember when they killed Ned and I thought "Well this isn't going to be the typical show is it?" Having my alliances shift as the plot develops really makes it a much more engaging, three-dimensional experience.

^^agree!!

The characters are so well developed that they are almost *real*. Actually, the people who seem too good (Ned) or too bad (Dany's brother) seem to not last. It's like you have to be a little good and a little bad to play the game of thrones.

I don't think Joffrey has any redeeming qualities at all... and yet, he's still around. :haha:

Whoever ends up killing him will be my favourite character. I'll probably stand up and cheer.

I agree I really hate Joffrey. And I think that you have to be good and bad is true. That's why I love Danearys so much. Because she's not a good person but such a bad ass!

Me too re Joffrey! I hope it's brienne, it would be the ultimate gender role reversal: him so far removed from a real man, and her far more a "real man" than most of the men we see. And she'd put him down like the sick puppy he is without being unnecessarily cruel or torturing him.
As an aside (I don't know how to use spoilers so I'll be a bit vague...) Uncle Tully that left the room to "p*ss against a tree", he didn't come back in did he? Is he still knocking about do we know?? x
Gaah I have to go to work and I just want to stay on this thread all day! Where IS noelle greyjoy in all this??

Last thing I said to DH before I went to bed - oooh the uncle went outside to pee!! So yeah think you're right Ruth.

You'll cheer when he dies, such satisfying read. I can't say I've come across a character I wanted to die as much as him, and really enjoyed reading about it. But I still feel for his mother.

I am still in shock. I had heard the phrase red wedding so knew something big was going to happen but I totally thought it would be at Jeoffrey and Margery's wedding and that little shit would finally die :(

:flower:

I'm really missing GOT!!! I even saw a map today and thought it was westeross! I'm far too obsessed.
When do our American sisters get the next episode? Tomorrow?
My dh is pressuring me to get pg again... I'm thinking if I cave in and it's a girl I'm forcing a GOT name! ...... x

When I was reading the books, I thought I would name my baby Arya if it's a girl. :haha: I told my husband and he wouldn't go for it. :coffee:
