Garnet?

I read a book with Garnet as a charecter but am sure it was a male charecter - I would always assume Garnet was a man (think it was a virginia andrews book). I really don't like it as a name.

Thanks for your views everyone, it's on the list as a possible middle name but decided against it as a first name now!

Makes me think of the Princess Garnet from Final Fantasy (Neeeeeeeerd!) and for that reason I think it's very pretty.

I think it is pretty - for a middle name or first name for a girl. I just read all the posts - does not seem masculine to me - as know what a Garnet is
Will be pretty as a middle name too tho
