gender sexing at newcastle RVI

has anyone been for a gender scan at newcastle RVI?
i was very disappointed at my 20 week scan, which was done at 18.5 weeks at my local hospital. Felt very rushed, that they did not explain things very well and didn't seem very sure about the sex, had a quick 5 second look and didn't show us much of the baby at all. only got a couple of pics and they were not very clear and quite blurry.
so, have been thinking of going for a private scan either a gender one to confirm sex or even a 4d one at newcastle RVI. we did go there for out NT scan and was impressed with them for that but would like to hear from people who have had gender scans there please,

i have my scans at the RVI but i didnt want to find out the gender, she said she couldnt tell anyway, i was in quite a while at my 20 week one tho while they checked everything was ok.

i can recommed a private scan at Babybond in Gosforth tho, they are very good, i had an early scan done there and im also gona have my 4d scan done by them, have a look at their website. www.babybond.com

thanks for that. have looked at babybond and am tempted to have a 4d scan! trying to persuade OH is worth the extra money for a definite answer on the baby's sex and to get better pics and dvd. have you booked your 4d scan yet? will be very interested in hearing how it went for you!

My 20 week scan at RVI was totally fab. The sonographer was training a midwife to do scans. They explained everything, I got the scan done twice. They had a good look (both times) for the gender, but baby had the cord between her legs so they weren't 100% sure.

For private scans in Newcastle Babybond is apparently the cheaper, or so I was told my a midwife I was talking to at work.

ooooh cant decide now. the RVI looks more expensive but also looks like they give you more, as for £200 you get

"DVD recording of the entire scan, CD of all of the images (usually 15-20), Typically 15-20 images are printed out in black and white at the time of the scan. All of these images will also be copied onto the CD in the colour format for you to print out at home."

also says at RVI the scan will be performed by a doctor who specializes in pregnancy ultrasound - a Fetal Medicine Consultant.

think will have to get saving!

ive never had a private scan done at the rvi but have been there for my last 2 pregnancies and they were great, except for my 20wk scan with this baby. i know friends who've had them done there and they've had nothing but good things to say about it.

im gona book my babybond 4d scan when my £190 HIP grant comes through in the next week or so.

Im also gona book a pregnancy photo shoot at the 'photography for little people' place in the metrocentre for £125 in the next few weeks, im v.excited, you get the photo shoot, framed image of bump and then a framed impression of hand/foot and photograph when the baby is born.

ive waited a long time for this and im making the most of every stage. lol.x

Ive had all my scans at RVI and so far ive been really impressed. i didnt want to know the sex of the baby but OH did so i left the room while she told him!!! I found my 20 week scan pix to be a bit blurry in comparison to the others (ive had 3 already and need another 3 due to medical reasons) but the baby was moving lots so thats why they were blurry, nothing they can do about a hyper baby!!! DaisyFairy - ive looked in that place in the metrocentre too, and ive been really tempted by it....im very sentimental and love keepsakes like that its juts a tad pricey! ight ask for it as an xmas present!!! lol xx

thats a great idea getting it for a xmas pres, im gona have to build myself up to get my kit off (sober) lol, im sure it will be v.tastefully done tho! X
