When you say your "morning numbers are high" are you referring to your fasting or your after breakfast, Christina?

I'm officially off my nightly insulin... I guess I'm the weird one where my GD has gotten better instead of worse. I also cleared it with my doctors office. Not sure how or why but I'm happy not to poke myself every night now.

My after dinner has been around 75-84 since I found out and today was 96.

I guess I'll see what tomorrow brings. I'm heading to bed.

Ugh, yea 1 seems like nothing... I was on 12 for my night time dose.

How long does the insulin bottle 100u last you guys? I'm on 10 units twice. The pharmacy said 52 days, but how?

Christina, if you like chocolate and peanut butter, look up OBriens Own Granola out of Center Point, Ia. They come to our health fair in Dubuque every year and their 3x protein chocolate peanut butter granola is amazing, with the whey and soy nuts, there is more protein than sugar and it tastes like a no-bake cookie. It has not messed with my numbers and makes a great on the go snack.

I agree about 1 unit being useless. My reading before dinner was a bit high yesterday so I took 1 unit of fast acting and my post dinner reading was 8.0. The one unit is useless. I am like you northern_me. My insulin needs are rising as I near my due date. They did tell me to expect this. We are the opposite of Amythyst. I have a scan tomorrow and a non-stress test and a meeting with the endocrinologist. Hopefully all is well and I can stop stressing so much.

My fasting numbers are like a champ. Always below 4.8, no matter what I eat or don't eat and from before I started with insulin. But that is because I have a condition called Adrenal fatigue where I don't have sufficient cortisol to keep my blood sugar up through the night.

My issue now is post meal really. I am on 9 units of slow acting in the morning and 4 units every night. The first time I took a shot of fast acting was yesterday before dinner and it did not do anything for me.

I was on 10 units a day and one pen lasted me 4 weeks. They told me something similar. I cannot figure out the math.

I looked them up. I have to figure out which Hyvee store #2 is but I can get them here in Sioix City!!! =] I just don't know if it's the one by me or across town.

Awesome! I didn't realize HyVee carried it; I have always just ordered it. Make sure you check for the 3x protein or read the labels as all I have had is the 3x protein one.

Had scan today and all well with baby, fluid, placenta and cord.

Baby a teeny 10th-15th centile but totally proportional and following her curve

At present - if things stay good with my readings - they will let me go to 41 weeks!!!

I went to the fetal specialist today funny they kept me at 7 weeks 4 days , but yesterday my ob said I was 6 weeks 5 days (today).
anywho they added 10 units of the fast acting insulin. So now I'm taking 20 slow and 10 fast a day.

doctor also said he would be able to tell the sex at 11 weeks? When did you guys find out?

We found out at 18 weeks

I found out at 12 weeks through a blood test called "Harmony". There is a few different named tests that do the exact same thing... one is called Matern21 and there is one called Panorama. Which one you can get depends on your age, your location, which test your fetal specialist offers, your insurance...etc.

Is anyone on insulin using a pen to inject?

My night time one is jamming up or something, but only when it's inserted in my skin. I took it out and dialed 2 units and it dispensed it, but it will NOT dispense when I'm trying to inject. So weird/frustrating.

Your insurance won't cover it? A few of them have programs directly through them that will allow you to get the test at a very discounted rate. I found out some of that by just googling the names of the tests.

I know my insurance only covered the full cost of the test because I'm over 35 and "high risk". So, if you can't get these tests then I guess you gotta wait for a sonogram to see it.
