So I got diagnosed with GD around 28 weeks and now I am 33 and 4 days.. totally diet controlled. My fasting needs to be under 95 & my post meal needs to be under 140 after an hour. I have had three fasting numbers that were on the higher side but never over 95 (91,92,93) and I am fairly sure it's because I slept in too long. The highest post meal number I have had in the entire four weeks was 126, usually it's more like 85-100.

When I get on GD blogs there are women get NSTs, extra ultrasounds, etc. I haven't gotten any of that. Every time I go to my OB, the appointments are exactly the same as they were before, except she looks at my numbers and says they are doing well. She measures the baby and says she's measuring right on time. Is that why I don't get the extra attention? I am just so afraid she's missing something- then when I go for my 36 week growth scan my baby girl is gonna weigh like 8 pounds

Is it possible she's missing something? Or because my numbers have been in range and when she measures my belly it's on time sooo.... I have nothing to worry about? What do you ladies think? Any advice or help is much much appreciated. And to any other ladies dealing with this- you go girl. We are healthier because of it (even tho it is a pain) and our babies will be too. I know it's hard to see now, but in the long run, this diet is a great way to eat while pregnant instead of pigging out and eating a bunch of refined carbs and sugar all the time. (ALTHOUGH ITS SOOOO HARD AND ANNOYING SOMETIMES!!!! haha)

It was the same for me. I was also concerned and asked my ob about it and he said because my gd was so well diet controlled my check ups were to be that of a normal pregnancy. I went into spontaneous labor and delivered my perfectly healthy 7ilbs 6oz 20 in long baby girl at 38w 1d.
It is when your blood sugar levels are out of control that they worry and have a more aggressive plan.

That makes me feel better, thank you. I hope my baby girl decides to come a little early!

congratulations :)

My midwife told me on Friday that as long as it stays diet controlled, everything should be fine. They won't induce me early, but they won't let me go more than a week overdue. (which was quite good news! At least I know she won't be more than a week late :'))
If I have to go on medication for it, either metformin or insulin, then they'll look at extra scans and appointments for the remainder of the pregnancy and probably look at inducing me around 38 weeks!
So as worrying as it can be, when everyone else is getting all these extra checks and you're not, it's a good thing! It means that you've got your GD in check and they're not worried! Don't fret about it, if your numbers go too high, then the alarm bells will sound and you'll be fed up of appointments!
But yeah, that's why they keep such a frequent check on us, to make sure everything's going okay and that there's nothing to worry about!

I am diet controlled too. But I also have had an ultrasound at 35 weeks and i'm having another my last one tomorrow. I also started doing 2 nst's a week from 37 weeks till birth. Now i'm waiting to see when or if i'm going to have to be induced. I did see something in their notes about delivery at 40 weeks. So they probably wont let me go passed my due date.
