Getting down from standing position

Hi ladies

Alex has just started to cruise! Today he has been doing great at getting around on his feet, and even climbed a few steps too, but when he wants to get down from standing he just drops and batters his bum on the floor. It looks painful, although he doesn't seem to bother! Should I be helping him learn how to gently get down from standing, or just let him figure it out himself?

Also, will walking follow shortly do you think? He was late to crawl, at around 11 months, and has only really in the past week been interested in being on his feet.

He will figure it out himself it's normal hun. As for walking, Omar started crawling & cruising at 9 months & he took few steps few days before his birthday. So 3 months from crawling & cruising to walking.

lol dont ask me Fynn cruised for a year before walking!!!!!! Sam isnt walking yet but cruised later so I did the whole teaching them to walk thing totally wrong

Thanks ladies That's good because I prefer to leave him to work things out for himself and do them in his own time. I have a feeling it will take him a while to get walking, but I'm in no rush anyway. I'm still getting used to him zipping about everywhere on all fours!

My guy slams down on his butt to get down all the time. We laugh that he needs to wear extra diapers to help with the padding. It's not graceful when they learn, but they don't do things over and over that hurt, well, I hope not!

Daisy used to get down head first I can't remember but it was def less than a month before she learned to get down without landing on her head! She learned by herself, I didn't think there was much I could do although I did consider a crash helmet
She cruised for around 4 months before walking but that was just because she started young I think.
