I'm only 24 weeks but I thought I'd try you ladies since you've maybe thought about it if you're in the same situation. I forgot to ask my midwife and won't see her until 28 weeks. FTM with no idea what to expect from labour.
Basically We have no car, and don't have anyone who could drive us to the hospital when I go into labour. If we got a taxi it would cost £50 and take about 40 minutes. But I live in a town where the taxi places don't open until 9am and close at 12. (God I miss the city) I'd have to go early to the hospital if I managed to get a taxi, and the hospital wanted to send me home I couldn't go back and forward. Both because of the car journey length and the price.
So I just wondering if anyone is in a similar situation or has any ideas, because it's stressing me out. I've been told you can get in trouble and be charged for calling an ambulance and charged for it.
Someone also told me if you were in the ambulance and someone needed it more they can put you out. Sounds ridiculously unlikely to me but who knows... :/
