Hello! So we always go upto Loch Lomond a couple of times a year for a little break away, and every time we go we just relax (which is amazing!) and shop! but I'm looking for recommendations for some touristy things to do and places to see. We don't mind a little bit of a drive, we usually drive half an hour to Braehead anyway lol! We're going November 10th - 13th xx

Glen Coe - Absolutely stunning
Inveraray - Old Jail to see, Castle
Oban - Seal/Whale Boat Tours
Isle of Bute - Mount Stuart (think that's what it's called)
Argyll's Secret Coast (head to Tighnabruich (sp!), there is a stunning view over Argyll & Isle of Bute)

We went to Loch Eck in August.

Are you looking for things to do in Glasgow city?

Anywhere in and around Glagow/Dumbarton/Loch Lomond areas xx

Things I can think of for now are:

In Glasgow:

Transport museum (free)
Art Galleries (free)
Transport museum (free)
Burrell Collection/Pollock country park (free)
Botanic gardens/Kelvingrove park (free)
House for An Art Lover (free I think!)
Peoples Palace/Glasgow Green (free)
GOMA (free)
Snowzone at Braehead is good as well for trying out snowboarding. dry slope skiing etc
Gambado softplay at Braehead
Wonderworld softplay in Kinning Park is excellent - it's massive!!
The Glasgow Science Centre - brilliant day out
Waverley boat excursion (might be a bit cold for that!)
There's free go karting tracks with karts, bikes, scooters etc down at Glasgow Green

Outside Glasgow:

Heads of Ayr family park (brilliant)
The Time Capsule (Ice skating/swimming)
M&D's theme park
Strathclyde park
Mugdock park
Chatelherault country park
Palace Rigg country park (with small animals to feed)
Kelburn Castle is amazing! Loads to do for kiddies
Balloch Castle country park
The Bubbles Factory (Carluke)
The Falkirk Wheel
Stirling Mystery Trail
Blair Drummond Safari Park
Eglington Country park (animals and indoor parts)
Go Ape (Aberfoyle)
Magnum Centre (Irvine)

I know not all are in Dumbarton/Loch Lomond/Balloch but some of them are worth a short drive!

Could probably think of loads more - I'll come back :haha:

Wow! That's amazing :) thanks so much! I had actually forgotten about the transport museum but I've heard its awesome xx

The transport museum is fab, it's been recently moved and renovated and is a really good day out :)

I love Aberfoyle and Calender, nothing in perticular but there's nice little touristy shops.

New Lanark is good too, it's an old mill that's been converted to a museum x

We went to the riverside transport museum yesterday and it was fab :)! Really nice restaurant too x
