Glucose test tomorrow!

Have my glucose tolerance test tomorrow, ILs are having the kids so me and my husband get 3hrs child free! Even if it is sat in a hospital waiting for blood tests haha

Be sure to have some form of entertainment. My husband and I ended up playing monopoly on our tablet to pass the time.

I'm about to start downloading games for my iPad, ones that don't need Internet connection.

I found a take a break magazine helped me, it had long story's in and passed an hour and a half ;-) ps make sure you take a snack for when your done, I was that hungry after I couldn't drive without having some chocolate first lol xxxx

Is it common to bring your OH to a GTT? I never would have thought to drag OH along, I just bring a book with me.

For a 3 hour test, they recommend bringing someone who can drive you home after, as it's pretty common to feel dizzy or nauseous during/after.

Ah.. No one ever mentioned that to me but we only do a 1-hour or 2-hour test here so maybe a bit less common to get sick from those.

My letter says to bring someone so he is my chosen person

I almost passed out in the street the other day as well so I want him near me again invade it happens again

Also, why should I be bored alone? It's his baby as well haha!

DH hates me reading them because I spend the whole magazine crying. He doesn't get why people read them and I'm there sobbing and trying to say "it's not all doom and gloom"

I have a cake bar in the cupboard, I'll stick it in my bag. Otherwise I will be tempted to go to costa. There is a costa in the hospital!

I also have mine Tuesday but its a lot different here I guess....I've been given the orange drink so that I can have it at home then an hour earlier than the tests. Then I collect the results a week later. I should be in and out of the clinic within half an hour.

I'm here now an hour in. Only an hour left until my next blood test.


I think they should set aside a room with comfy sofas and magazines for the people that are here for the GTT. All I can see is vending machines with BBQ mini chedders (my favourite) and its making me hungry.
