Ok, I have been testing my blood sugar 4X daily. My after meal levels are generally good, only a couple high ones in the past week. My problem is my fasting level when I wake up in the morning! It is supposed to be under 95, over the last three days it has been 96, 123, and 115! My after breakfast level tends to be high too, but I think this could have something to do with the high fasting level.
How can I bring this down? I typically eat late at night before bed (usually not until 1 am) but have cut that down to almost exclusively protein, maybe 1 carbohydrate allowance because the last time I did an exclusively protein meal I got hypoglycemic in the middle of the night (blood sugar was 52).
I'm so frustrated! I know that when I did my GTT my fasting level was pretty high and that the first blood draw was really high but after that it went to normal for the last two. Is this a pattern?
