As i once saw on Micheal Mcintyre show, its not like they are going to be 45 years old and crawling into a cocktail party unable to walk or speak to anyone!
Although leaving the coctail party may be a different story . . .
It is hard to compare and we all know we shouldn't but at the same time, we are always cautious that we aren't 'keeping them back' which is the main reason we end up doing it in the first place I think. It just because you care, it just difficult to find that balance! I find it quite difficult when family mention how well my cousin's little boy is doing, or my aunts little girl is doing purely because between them and my LO there a week between them all, but strangely enough kids at nursery or in the Bumpkin group also born in October I don't get so het up about. Anyway, I digress . . . However, I totally agree with what everyone else has said - they do all develop differently and it doesn't mean you are doing anything wrong. He will get there in his own time and I think its more important that he is having fun right now
