HI ladies i have a wedding in a week and have nothing to wear and every dress i try on looks horrible i cant afford to go all out on a fancy maternity dress any ideas please note i am in aust.

Oh dear...maybe do you have a nice black skirt with an elastic waste band? you could pair that with a nice top? how far along are you right now?

I am nearly 19wks i have been told by my mother in law i need to wear a dress when i told her i was thinkin bout wearing a skirt and a top she looked at me like i was the worst person in the world (please note we do not get along ) i have tried on so many dresses and just cant find anything

Wear what you like, and what you think looks good. Remember it is a wedding, it is alllll about the bride, people will be paying attention to her, the bridesmaids and the groom. Your friends will only care that you came to share their day with them and I am sure, no matter what, you will look fantastic.

I don`t want to spend to much as i wont be pregnant forever i was hoping to pick up just a nice black cocktail dress but they are so hard to find at a reasonable price

Yeah I can imagine, do you have a noticable bump, that will need lots of material around the waist to be comfy or can you still wear normal pre pregnancy clothes? x

Have you looked on ebay, they have lots of dresses on there, I'm looking at the moment for you but obviously don't know your size or what your style is. Pretty good prices for black cocktail dresses as well. If you get one that is a little floaty you will be able to fit your bump into it, obviously you won't be able to try it on though. xx

My cousin was 8 months pregnant with twins at my wedding last year! She just wore a simple black floaty like dress and spruced it up with a bright pink scarf/shawl thing around her arms. She looked fantastic.

At the end of the day though, you are the one who has to be comfortable all day, and if you feel you will be comfier in a skirt and a top, then wear that. Don´t give a toss about what your MiL says, its not up to her what you wear.

a girlfriend of mine got married at 7 months, and was huge compared to her tiny little self. She wore a babydoll style dress, it was red with white polka dots and was sooo cute.
