Going to O the day before my HSG...Should I wait?

So as my title says, I'm due to get my first HSG this Friday. Today's CD 8 and I just took an OPK test and it came out positive. This means I'll O on CD 9 and have my HSG on CD 10. This basically means if we try, the whole thing will be a waste because my system will get flushed out after the HSG.

I didn't realize how much I was hoping I would get my BFP on my HSG cycle. I just heard so many success stories and since the doctors can't find anything really "wrong" with me that flushing my system might be the answer we needed.

I'm wondering if we should try again this cycle (it's been a year) or just skip it and get the HSG.

That's a tough choice! I got my HSG last month and did not get pregnant that cycle. I actually had a pretty painful period which I attributed to everything that had been cleaned out from the HSG. I felt really relieved to have it over with. So, on one hand, it might be a good relief to have it done so you can look forward to the following cycle with better chances of pregnancy If you decide to try this cycle, just be sure to schedule the HSG earlier next cycle anyway, that's my two cents. Thank you so much for weighing. My fiance is like, "it'll happen when it happens just relax". I love him more than my luggage but comments like that make me want to punch him in the face. No, no, nothing that extreme. Maybe just a little jab to the ribs. But seriously, I feel so conflicted. But I think if I weigh the options I'd rather try this cycle and have the HSG not over a holiday and get it done much earlier. My doctor has the personality of a microwaveable dinner, hence his name, Dr. Frozen Turkey. But I'll just ask him if we can speed things up next cycle.

I dont know what america is like but you wouldnt be allowed it here if you O'd as it can cause ectopic pregnancy

there was a big fuss with mine as the could only fit me in on CD13 and they needed to track ovulation (I od late as always anyway)

Go with your gut instinct hsg next cycle! It was over really fast- I was pretty anxious about it but it wasn't as bad as I thought. They let me watch on the screens so I could see the tubes filling up which was awesome. Hopefully you won't need it though if it's a bfp this month
