Gone self employed now found out I'm pregnant advice

Hi,

I left my employer on August 3rd after about 6 years to start self employed then found out I'm pregnant I thought oh well never mind I won't get anything but looking at the government site it says if you've worked 26 weeks in the last 66 weeks then you are entitled to smp is this right?

you may be entitled to maternity allowance (not SMP) which is less money than SMP overall, but better than nothing!!

you need to have earned enough in the test period ie 26 weeks out of the 66 weeks up to the week before your due date

Thanks i meant maternity allowance not sure why i wrote smp lol! I earned £125 a week up until the end of july so fingers crossed i will be entitled xx

if you are now registered as self employed and paying class 2 NI you will automatically be entitled to MA
