Hi all,

Can you recommend some good books for babies? Yes my lo is only 5 months but he seems to love books so I want to make the most of it and read to him as much as he wants. I'm going to have a look on amazon and get a selection for him but obviously it's hard to tell which ones are any good without actually looking at them.

Many thanks xxx

Olivia loves books too. Her fav one is the one which my HV gave her. Its called Look-Theres a baby! She gave me that & another one at her 7-9month check up. It has a mirrior at the end of the book which she loves.
My gran gets her a book every month from water stones. Shes also got alot of In The Night Garden books from Mothercare.
Hope this helps
x

When Poppy was born, quite of few of my friends who have older babies bought her the Touchy Feely books

as they said when their babies were about 5 or 6 months old they really loved them, so we have quite a few of these for Poppy. She also seems to like the Spot stories

i have a lovely book called "No matter what" . It's all about how a parent fox will love the baby fox no matter what. It's really lovely with great pictures i'm sure amazon have it.

Thanks for all the replies. I'm going to Ikea at the weekend to fit a toybox perhaps I should look for a bookcase too. I'm looking forward to reading to him, it's so nice that he likes it even though he's so young.

Love You Forever by Robert Munsch is a favourite that I can't wait to read to Peanut:

My kids particularly like:
Where's Spot?
The Hungry Caterpiller
I wrote to the zoo to send me a pet...
Each Peach Pear Plum
Anything with bright photos of things like animals or cars and tractors

When we read to them we go for anything... we've read all the Winnie the Pooh books, Charlotte's web, Thomas the Tank Engine, Roald Dahl, Wind in the Willows, etc. etc.,

me and maddi love our books, we have lots, our fav's are:
- 'thats not my...' series
- winnie the pooh
- baby einstein
- disney stories

I have a really cute and funny book called "whose knickers!" It really brings out the drama queen in me!

Also, my all time favourite childrens book, which I actually did a project on at university while studying to be a teacher, because it was the sweetest childrens book ever is "Diary of a Wombat". I bought it for Jasper, but mostly because I love it! I'll admitt though, its really valuable education for school aged children, but I think little tots would enjoy it also!

ALSO any Spot books. You may already know how remarkably popular spot is... he's a well loved little puppy!

Wow I'm really glad I asked. I've got some great ideas now - My credit card is going to be getting some hammering, LOL

Thanks everyone!

Katie loves this book - it's a touchy feely one
