Hello all, I'd like to get into baby wearing but I think I'd be best off with a structured carrier rather than a wrap. I'm finding a Moby a bit fiddly and there's no chance my DH will consent to put it on! Are there any out there which are properly supportive for the baby, yet good for a newborn? I had my eye on a Wilkinet carrier but they get mixed reviews (also deemed fiddly). I'd like to try an Ergo but they cost £££ with the insert and I don't want to break the bank. Ideally it should also be good for breastfeeding. Anyone have any suggestions, or have a Wilkinet? Thank you!

I love my ergo and use it with a newborn insert but like you say it did cost me about £100. Im sure you could find a pre loved one for much less, just beware of the fakes on eBay....there is a thread here on how to spot one, but generally if the price is too good to be true, then it's prob a fake.
I'm sure some of the other ladies here will have some good recommendations for you though x

I don't really mind spending the money if need be, but I'm just reluctant to spend big on something which might not work for us. I don't mind using second hand for a lot of things but I'd be a bit wary of a used carrier myself. Although I have heard pretty much all good things about the Ergo, so I could be tempted to splash out!

Connecta's are good for when they are little.

Ergos are well worth the money i think, we still use ours with the 27 month old :D

I would suggest the bondolino. : https://www.hoppediz.de/shop/bondolino?et_rp=1&___store=english&___from_store=default

For young babies, I find it even better than the ergo/manduca because it has the positive quantities of a woven wrap while being as easy to handle as a comfort carrier.

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll look into those!

Any sling meets you can attend? I always recommend trying some on in person.
