Hey ladies. Not been on this section in a while due to having alot on, (moving house, getting prepared for new arrival, finding our bearings with finances etc) but I'm back now, and a couple of days ago I decided to try Gracie on the potty again. (I've tried before but failed miserably) but this time I just felt she might be ready, so I'm going to start a diary of how she's getting on, just for you mums who want to try it. I know one method doesn't work for every child but I thought this could be a helping hand :)
So, let's start with the details.
Gracie-May is 19 months old (2 in November)
I started training on the 19th of August 2012.
I started by whenever I needed the toilet, taking Gracie in the bathroom with me and sitting her on her potty. Telling her to do a widdle like mummy and asking her to listen to the sound in the toilet. She didn't pick it up straight away but by the fourth time I did this, she finally pee'd in the potty. Realising she'd need to go much more often than me, I decided to take the potty into the lounge, take her nappy off, get a towel and let her run around without a nappy on. Everytime she pee'd a little on the floor I'd quickly put her on the potty, and she'd finish her pee in there. Everytime she did this, I would show her the pee and get very over excited, praising her and saying what a good girl she was. Her dad did the same when he was home. We've continued like this for 3 days, she still doesn't like to go when she first wakes up, but she does go before bed. She hasn't quite learnt what the feeling to pee is yet, but it's early days. So at the moment, we're getting by on the running around naked theory. I do put pull up pants on her for little times in the day, and specifically ask her if she needs to tiddle. If she says yes, I place her on the potty even if she doesn't do one. If she says no, I leave her alone.
It's now the 22nd of August and she's going to her nanna's for a sleepover today. I've made sure my mum knows the methods I'm using so I'm hoping for a successful day at nanna's too. Will update the diary tomorrow, thanks for reading and hope this helps at least one person!

good luck! will definitely be following not looking forward to this. xx
