Well...I am pretty upset right now!!!!!! I just found out I have gum disease because of the hormones taking over and not getting enough calcium! I am so upset! I noticed the other day my gum was sort of peeling away from my one tooth but didn't think anything of it! Well now I am told I have gum disease and its because a) im pregnant (from all the hormones I guess the baby is stripping me of getting the proper nutrients) and b) apparantly I don't get enough calcium.
I am so upset about this! Apparently I have to go see a specialist now and spend like 2000$ to get this crap fixed!!
I didn't need this right now!! :( Anyone else suffering from this?

oh no so sorry to hear this. I hear mouth/teeth issues are fairly common in pregnancy. That is crazy though $2000.00 yikes

loooove you.
i say shopping, movies and popcorns back to you!!!
it will be ok!!

you'd still want to do movies, shopping and popcorn even if I lost my teeth!? I could just suck on the popcorn till it was soggy!
Oh I'm terrible!!

Hope u manage to suck popcorn and cry at a soppy girly movie lol . xx .

lol thanks! At least I can joke about all this! No point in stressing I guess! I'm following a strict dental routine so hopefully that will nip it in the butt, and am taking calcium supplements now.

Oh wow thats not good, thats gotta suck to..Well i guess we can relate kinda lol :p And $2000 Thats $$$$$$ lol

Just got back in from the dentist and was going to ask a question about teeth...
Made an appointment coz I had been having gum issues since the weekend - felt like an infection to me. Thought I'd be given some antibiotics or something to clear up the problem - if only it were that simple. :hissy: I've ended up having stage 1 (of 3) of a root canal! The Dentist can't complete the procedure until after the baby is born so gotta have it temporarily sorted. On top of that she said the tooth next to it is dead!! Caused by a bacterial infection that got down the side of the gum - she said my teeth were really clean and I obviously took care of them, so how does something like that happen ?!?! I was dreading the bill but have paid the equivalent of about 60 pounds for the work today - luckily not $2000!!!
I'm currently sitting here with half my head still frozen from the injection... oh joy!

Isn't it terrible!! I had heard that many women get teeth/gum problems while pregnant but didn't realize it could get this bad!!!

I know!! Never thought it'd happen to me coz I'm quite good with looking after my teeth and don't really eat/drink so many sugary things. Just goes to show that it can strike anyone one down... damn these hormones :hissy:
Scared to eat anything proper now incase my temporary filing drops out. I have also barely slept coz I'm worried about whether the stuff that numbed my head will affect the baby. I wish I could feel the baby move so I know it's alright :sad2:
