Growth Scans?

I dont venture in here much... i don't like to ask to many questions... even in the trimester boards im the same. But here goes.

I am being sent for growth scans at 28 weeks, 32 weeks and 36 weeks. I'm not entirely sure why though. I have had a lot of bleeding this pregnancy coupled with cramping recently.

I was starting to lose all hope really as i know at this stage there is nothing anyone could do if i went into labour.

I was just wondering if you have been sent for growth scans, why? With the hospital i was at with Evie i was scanned upon every visit to the MAU to look for any bleed site but this hospital doesnt do that. They don't know why i'm bleeding and don't seem to want to find out why... it must be being caused by something!

I've had growth scans throughout. 23 weeks, 28 weeks, 32 weeks and am currently awaiting my 36 week in a few weeks.

In my case, they are checking that the baby is developing normally after my bloods at 12 weeks were indicative of a disability or growth problem.

I think maybe for you that they are checking that the placenta is working efficiently enough to support your baby to grow well. Which is also what they are checking for me. If the babies growth was to drop off, then they told me that the baby mya have to be delivered early.

But so far so good and hopefully, it'll be the same for you. We've learnt just to take one milestone at a time and face things if they happen.

Good luck to you. You're so close to being viable. 24 weeks for us was a major milestone.

I had growth scans because my bump measured small. Have they said anything about that at MW appoinments? xx

no, nothing is small... that i know of yet ... just bleeding and getting pain. Dont get me wrong im glad i get more scans i just dont understand why xx

i've got growth scans at 28 and 34 weeks and its purely because of my history, i would assume its the same for you xxxxxx

I had to get growth scans because my baby will be born with a cleft lip. So, they wanted to make sure he was growing right & that the fluid around him was the right amount (because of swallowing problems and such). I'm sure it's just something to do with your history or something! I hope you're doing well.
